The graveyard near the old church of Morlorrim is full of tombstones, as one might expect. In the far back are a number of mausoleums: several small ones, and two bigger ones. One of these is build on top a steep hill, overlooking the misty graveyard below. Stone stairs lead to it and from within the structure you can make out a light. it seems unnatural, like a purple glow...

Long ago the church of Morlorrim was an important part of the Dossor region. It was the meeting point for people all throughout the region. Right behind the church was a small graveyard, but nobles of Dossor wished to be buried there. Eventually even the common people could arranged to be buried behind the church of Morlorrim. So it was that the small graveyard grew to be a large maze of tombstones and mausoleums.
Morlorrim is worshipped no longer, and the church and ...

Morlorrim is one of the Old Gods or the Heathen Gods as they are now referred to. He is the Lord of Shadows and master of the Plane of Shadows. There used to be a great following of Morlorrim, but that changed over a millennium ago.
Then Morlorrim came to this world to extend his power and claim this plane for himself. He sought to cover the world in eternal darkness, to erase all light from existence. His ultimate goal was unknown, but some believe he intended to destroy the plane of l...

Atop a high cliff, overlooking the city below is Twyrif castle. It is home to Duke Deiniol of Arnallan. While Deiniol is but a Duke, he acts as king in his own domain. He holds lavish feasts, and his court is all about appearance.
Twyrif Castle was originally build as a defensive structure, but over time the lords of Arnallan have refurnished the place and over the years it went through many renovations. Comfortable quarters were added and the castle now mostly serves to ma...

The City of Twyrif is a major city along the North-South Road that connects northern and southern Rasfadal. The walled city is build at the point where the rivers Mygar and Dhur merge, with a castle build high up on a cliff. It sees a lot of merchants coming through town and some have settled here to set up permanent establishments. This is a good place for those that want to go shopping, but make sure to avoid The Slums, or you'll part with your gold faster than you'd like.

The town of Jarlang is located on the eastern shores of Rasfadal, between the town of Burnard to the north and Anfel to the south. It's a small town that mostly focusses on fishing. Lately, however, the fish in the area seem to be dying, with no obvious cause. What the villagers have noticed is something about the Stones of Gargal. Their lights don't shine as bright as they used to during the night.
Below the town is a small network of caverns. The villagers mostly leave those cav...

The Kingdom of Rasfadal is ruled by the king with regional power given to various dukes and counts. Most dukes have granted regional power to counts below them. The lands around the capital are called 'The Crownlands, which consists of the Crownduchy. The king of Rasfadal is also the Duke of the Crownduchy. When the firstborn son of the king comes of age he is granted the Barony of Ordal, a barony within the Crownduchy. To the east are the Lords of Mull. They are the lords of the Duchies of E...

It's a new month and that means that it's time for another update. This one is a bit late as I have been very busy lately. In addition to that, it's summer break and the kids need to be entertained which takes away some of my time. I knew that was coming so I tried to get as much as possible done last month. Here's a breakdown of what happened in July:

Another posts that's a little different from the rest. Last month people seemed to like the miniatures a lot, so I thought I'd create another set this month to go with the current Countryside theme.
So here are the new miniatures, the Rasfadalian farmer, a werewolf and a troll.
The Rasfadalian farmer is found around the entire kingdom, in small towns and villages, communities or even far out along the road. They are hard working people and welcome any outsiders with re...

Hey everyone! I have a question for you all.
As you all know I create a variety of map types and also some miniatures and worldbuilding. As of now, my focus is a little all over the place.
I try to look at what type of map I haven't made in a while, and at the same time try to get an idea of what you like the most and what not so much. Now I thought, why not save myself a lot of trouble and just ask you?!
My question to you is: what type of maps/posts would you like to...

Here's a little something different for you. I made a token set to fit with the current theme so you can make your own battlemaps!
This post includes several tree, bush, plant and rock tokens, as well as a blank 'Grassy Fields' base map that you can put them on. This way you can create the perfect map for you encounter.
Also, these tokens can be used to create a forest setting as well!
The map below is made with the tokens included in this set.

When I think of the countryside I always imagine endless fields of grass and rolling hills with groups of trees and bushes scattered around. The Dutch countryside is much less interesting than that, mostly flat and farmlands for miles.
This got me thinking and I came up with the idea of making a token set to create that sort of countryside encounter map.
This post includes several tree, bush, plant and rock tokens, as well as a blank 'Grassy Fields' base map that you c...

On the southern reaches of the Arnallan Plains lies the town of Tharg. It is a modest town surrounded by farmlands and trees. To the west you can just make out the tree line of the Furnary Forest, a dangerous place most people stay away from. While the town is a farming community of old, it is also a place where merchants go to sell their wares. This is because is it located on the crossing between the Harrin Road and the Pasture Way, two well-travelled roads in Rasfadal.
