DS #43 pushed back a week

Hey guys, as I'm going to be out of town for ECCC for the better part of a week, to be safe I'm going to push Dark Science #43 back a week too. I've been grinding hard to see if I could get the page done in half the time, but it's not working out and I think it's safer (and smarter) to just hold off a week and use that time to build a buffer. Emerald City Comic Con!

Hey Seattle, it’s that time again! I’ll be at ECCC this Friday-Sunday (March 27-29) at Topatoco’s booth 1102. I’m right on the sky bridge, so I’m easy to find! Come on over, we’ll have a grand time. Unfortunately, I’ll be out for the better part of a week, so Monday’s comic may be late. I’ll keep you guys posted.

Star Wars Rebels

Who's seen this show? I think anyone who likes my approach with Star Wars '99 would really dig it. It actually uses a lot of old Ralph McQuarrie designs, and also essentially pretends the prequels never happened (aside from a couple ties to the Clone Wars cartoon). It's a really, really good show that actually feels like a Star Wars story in a way that I haven't seen since the 90s.

It's the TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY of Dresden Codak! How did this happen? How am I still alive? These questions may never be answered.

Color Test for DS #41

Not based on any particular scene in the comic, just a 30 minute test to see if the lighting, etc. are a good fit.

So I decided to put together an updated influence map for my work! Here are the artists who are the biggest influence on my visual and storytelling style. Dark Science #40 - The Fire

Discussion Question: Who's Your Favorite Cyborg?

These discussion questions have been really great this week! I've got one more for you: who's your favorite fictional cyborg? 1 - They must be composed of both organic and mechanical components. No clones or robots! 2 - You can only choose one! Mine's probably Inspector Gadget, as he's one of the few examples of having prosthetics that a) didn't make him "less human" and b) made him AWESOME.
