Going through old images, I completely forgot that the first Dresden Codak comic technically predates Dresden Codak by three years. Back when I first started the site in 2005, I thought I should update a strip every day, and while digging for more comics, I decided to scan this one that was drawn on my Asian History class notes.

A missed opportunity with the Star Wars prequels (and EU in general) is presenting Jedi as a monolithic culture. I've written before about how "Jedi Knights" were for years meant to be just a subset of "Jedi," the latter actually comprising a culture and religion that includes things beyond just military service. Hey guys, just letting everyone know I've decided to take an internet hiatus for the next month, mainly to take a step back, work out some creative things, and come at the comic fresh. I've been going pretty much nonstop since 2010 on Dark Science, and it's probably a good thing to take a few weeks off.
I'll still post sketches and updates on the Patreon, however, and I'll also be using this time to finish up my backlog of commissions and maybe even work on the Dresden Codak website...

Did you know the Dark Scientists all have titles? It's true!
From left to right:
1) Gulae, the Devourer
2) Fortuna, the Broker
3) Morningstar, the Lightbringer
4) Volo, the Gambler
5) Leviathan, the Serpent
6) Marquis, the Conqueror
7) Somno, the Dreamer
Obviously some of them have other names, like Gulae being Belphegor and Leviathan being Thomas, but these are their proper Dark Scientist titles.
