Hello lovely people!
As promised, here is the time lapse process for this portrait! I had so much fun with this because I rarely draw males, so I viewed the process as a study. Also, I used a slightly different rendering technique than I normally do; lots of hatching, rough brush strokes, and quick lines. I wanted to use those techniques to capture the roughness of the character (I'm calling him a character haha but he's a real person!) and it was so much fun :)

First sketch piece of July! 💖 My old sketchbook is falling apart so I bought a new one yesterday, and it is soooo nice to sketch on some fresh paper! The paper is bristol which I highly recommend for smooth blending and clean erasing! It’s also very thick so when you press your pencil onto the paper for dark lines you don’t need to worry about getting indents on the page beneath. This drawing is inspired by some plants I saw 😊
