Hey there everyone! Guess what, I’m home. You know, incase you couldn’t tell by the title. I just got back from a quick stint to Disney where I watched many children cry and used that energy to be a guest at a convention in Mexico! It was great time and I loved pretty much every second of it. I’ll be sharing a little bit of it here and there but most of it was captured on snap chat. These photos don't have much of a story but i liked them too much not to include. The story i sory of have in my head is like this:

If you watched my snap chat the other day then you know that I went a bit overboard with the the little mermaid and king triton. Because of that I figured I would post another aquaman photo. As the symbiot creeps up Peters neck he lets a a silent screen which is enough to show his that his body is no longer his own. The venom has entered his blood and has made its way to his brain. Peter stops struggling only to catch a glimpse of what he is becoming. He is no longer afraid, he is no longer struggling, he is welcoming of his new host.

The Symbiot quicky starts to rush over Peters arm which intern cause him to panic and fall to the ground. In an attempt to get back up, he makes the mistake of touching his leg which cause the venom to spread even quicker over his body. In this heightened state of panic Peter make sure that his towel hasn’t slipped to much cause he knows him mom is gonna see these pictures.

As the Symbiot gets its taste it has become certain that this will be its next host. It unleashes its tendril and it shoots forward wrapping itself around Peters hand. Not expecting such a struggle it releases two more tendrils pulling Peters hand closer.

After his realization that he need to continue, Peter pick ups the mask which unbeknownst to him has been overtaken by the symbiot. The symbiot Oozes toward his hand getting a taste of the anger and fear that has rooted its self in Peter, before retracting back hide itself from view. It waits.

This is actually an unedited shot direct from the camera, but I wanted to include it because it both tells the story, and shows how incredibly talented Shaun is, and how we can sometimes nail a shot in one take!
Peter is confused, he a little fucked up right now and the battle going on inside his head is starting to feel worse than the one he actually fights on the streets. he bends down to pick up the mask knowing that as much as he wants to stop he cant. Not yet. Not till he stops venom...
I'm a sucker for black and white so it no secret that I love this photo!
This shot was meant to continue the story by showing that Peter had given up. That he had thrown the mask on the ground, and that he was tired of letting everyone down. It's one of those "a picture is worth a thousand words" moments where he has given up because he's incredibly frustrated with his own failures but questions what the world would be like with out him. We knew that we wanted to make the venom shoot scary and sexy, because thats what i love to do, but what was really important was that it was also interesting. We decided to set it in the bathroom cause that lends itself pretty well to the sexy part and it gives a nice white contrast to what is soon to be dark and gritty.
The Story we wanted to tell with this series was both complex, and simple. It had a lot of meaning in the realm of the character but it as also an important shoot for me...

I know I don’t really spend a ton of time talking about what involved in cosplay but as the Aquaman picture are starting to come out, it been nice to look back at it. I remember knowing that I wanted to do another Aquaman cosplay but wanting it to be drastically different from the first one i did. I want to keep it regal but add armour to give him a “warrior king” vibe. I took inspiration from the 90’s Aquaman, added my own kingly touches and even used part of the old costume in new way...

Well, 3 flight attempts later and I’m still stuck in Toronto. I’m sure I’ll be home sometime this year. In the mean time, here is an unedited shot from the venom series. I’m not sure what happening here but my guess is that I couldn’t figure out how to make the web work and Shaun’s flash didn’t go off. With the combination of those two failings, we got what I thing is a pretty interesting look into the shoot!
