We've got this month's Derek Beta Build today! It includes the Moment from before, Derek's version of Soiree, and a new one. This time the Moment is entirely disconnected from anything that happened in the base story- it's a whole new adventure.
You'll have to start a brand new file for Derek's beta content to unlock, but there is an option at the beginning to skip right to Step 2.
We're almost done adding the new over and under clothing layers of the icons and making icons for the more recent Step 2 side characters! They're so cute. And after this we'll be getting back to creating even more options for the MC Doll.
[The icons will have eyebrows and mouths in the actual game, but those are extra layers added over the faces rather than a set part of the face, haha]

Honestly, this is the best thing there is. There are songs that take the sentimental sounding "Nostalgia" track played on the main menu of the game and mix it with the unique character themes for Tamarack and Qiu.
This specific sample is Tamarack's version of Nostalgia. It's gonna be so lovely to have it in meaningful moments of the story after you've had time to grow up and look back on your life with her 😭

I don't think I've mentioned this yet, so each of the backgrounds in Our Life: Now & Forever have at least two concepts sketched out and we determine which is better or if different aspects should be combined together to make a new design.

Those updates about icons we've been sharing are now implemented into our in-progress build! New options for the MC, Opal's redone icon with the two additional skin tones, and the NPCs closing their icon face eyes to match their main sprite expression. It's always great to see the game come together even more.
The next time we're able to release a beta update for the OL2 prologue, these things will be included in it 💖

Derek's a very nice boy, but in his story you'll be able to be around him for long enough to see how his strengths can become a weakness that just makes Derek upset himself, and potentially the MC too. You can have conflict time, or comfort the stressed young man time, haha.

We now have the finished version of Ren's cute older brother! Ren is a little bit jealous of how pretty Devin is and how carefree he seems to be, but the two have a positive relationship despite all that.

The Our Life: Now & Forever prologue beta is here! Until the prologue is fully complete, this is gonna be a new staple perk of Tier 2 and up on the Patreon. Unlike the Tier 3 and up Derek beta, this probably won't update every single month. New events will come around every two or three months. But you can look forward to seeing more of the OL2 prologue, and improved game features, as it slowly comes together between work on OL1.
