Hey everybody! It's time to vote for the next guest art image. November will be the last month of fall, so I think having it be an Our Life: Now & Forever character is appropriate.  

We're also going to be sharing some of the Step 3 versions of the characters publicly this month. Because of that, I think it'd be fun to have the guest piece be set during Step 3. But Qiu, Tamarack, Pran, and Renee won't be revealed by the start of November, so they can't be the featured character...

Our Life 2: Qiu "Autumn" Lin Step 3 Design Sketch ✨

Our Life: DEREK DLC RELEASE DATE!

Derek's DLC is launching on September 29th, 2022 🥳️. We've fixed up the beta bug reports, added final touches, and are finally ready to share Derek's story with everybody. He is a great guy and I hope people will love getting to spend more time together, with Derek and his family. His story can be played as a romance or as a close friendship. 

I'm not sure the exact hour it will go live, but it will be pretty early in the morning based on Pacific Standard Time.

And, for real this time, we've finished adding new art to the Derek DLC! It's done. This last one is an update to the grocery store background, since originally it was reusing the Step 3 version. I'm not sure anyone would've noticed or cared, but oh well, haha.

Yeah, those are Baxter's favorite colors even as a thirteen-year-old, long before he's living the monochrome lifestyle. Very cute. But man, the Sunset Bird people have known Baxter for years and he's never mentioned there was a secret reason those were his favorite. And here Qiu comes along and is just gonna immediately drop that bit of info onto someone who is meeting Baxter for the first time, haha.

This is Step 3, the most crucial age since it's the technical 'ending' of the game because Step 4 will once again be an epilogue rather than a full Step.

Our Life: Derek DLC New Mall BG

Jorge's all grown up and having his own romantic adventures 😭

This scene is in the current beta, but the background isn't! It reused the original mall asset as a stand-in. That was one of the very last things we were waiting for; an updated look to the mall so it reflected the ten years that has passed by since Step 2. It came in a couple days ago and it's nice to finally check that off the list.

Our Life: Derek Beta Build 0.7 - Full DLC (PC, Mac, & Android)!

That Derek, he's always two steps ahead, haha. And this is it, the last Derek beta build! Some of the BGs need to be updated and not everyone has their voice acting added in Step 4, but that's it in terms of its beta-ness. It's got his whole DLC from start to end. Woo 🎉🎉🎉

You'll have to start a brand new file for Derek's beta content to unlock, but there is an option at the beginning to skip right to Step 2.

Our Life 2: Hopeful Sample Track

We've got a pretty big OST for the game at this point! This is number 25. We're getting to the final few songs. This sample in particular, though, is of another sweet and comforting track. I'm sure it'll get to accompany some very lovely moments 💞
