Kutaka is a team focused card quality character. She'll be cycling cards in hand quite a big throughout the game, constantly farming for those big draws. Her abilities work well when she's got teammates and when she doesn't. Of particular note is that her Ability and Spell Card have the same trigger, so if someone's bullying you, you can stack both to cycle 2 and draw 2!

Minamitsu comes with an Item destruction counter, as well as the an option to use an Item as an Invocation. The obvious play is to 1-2 punch an enemy by slamming your Item into their face. Destroying your own resources is always risky though, careful that you don't get yourself in too deep.

We arrange cards into categories to make sure we're filling all the roles a card can play. Psychokinesis fills the "Powerful Action" role and oh my. An upgraded Last Word, this Danmaku card grabs a bunch of items and breaks them over their owner's heads. You choose how much aggro you draw with this card, each player you target increases your chances of getting canceled. Will you try to clear the field, or will you settle for smacking your enemy with that stupid mallet of theirs?

This month’s Lunatic update brings us a sus goddess! Okina’s domain over hidden things allows her to hide cards and turn them into extra spell card activations. She effectively gets twice as many of those spell card activations per round, and those activations can be done with any card as long as you can manage the seasons properly. Here's an incident guaranteed to blow up your fan expansions.
It's all pretty simple, Takane arrives and sets up her shop and you can buy cards from it. The last card can't be bought to prevent the incident from languishing forever. For fairness, you can only buy once per turn. Junko wanted to protest this rule but then the moon came out and she had to yell at it.

In our team meetings, Carrot is always telling me he regretted how we implemented “Fantasy Seal,” Reimu’s signature spell card. The spell has several issues. It’s complicated for new players, its net-fun is negative, and you can actually hamper yourself with it. Having the primary protagonist of Touhou have this kind of implementation isn’t great for Danmaku!!.
How about some non-combatants? The human village is home to many named characters who don't participate in danmaku battles. But that doesn't mean they can't be in Danmaku!!.
Miyoi gives you a random Extra Character every turn. Simple and to the point, appropriate for a character residing at a bar.
Kosuzu is trouble. This girl with more books than sense summons a random character and unleashes their spell card for free.

This month's Small-Fry tier isn't Small-Fry cards, though they may look like them. Shanghai and Alice's other dolls join Danmaku!! as Assist Character cards that don't have a Mob form. We were interested in having reusable effects outside of the Mob deck, and the dolls being literal items fill that space nicely.

This month's Lunatic tier is two characters from the newer Touhou games. Yachie is cool as ice, coming with a counter Ability that has twice as many procs as usual, but costs a card to use. In May 2021 we released the Heroine Midbosses, these midbosses had an Ability that activated when they were defeated. Today we bring you another one midboss in that style, plus three more with a new style.
Cirno comes in as another Heroine midboss. Defeating her starts a slow freeze on the current player. However her Assist Action is a repeatable Demon Book as well as immunity to mob attacks. This fairy is just trouble all around.

Ding! You're a winner! Fukubiki is another happy incident. Bet your resources to draw even more resources. The big prize here lets you draw from any deck twice, which means you can choose two different decks if you like. Summer is almost as good, but it's Winter you gotta watch out for.
Some of you will be tempted to use the life extra for even more draw power. My advice to you would be to never gamble!

Free Market is an incident I suspect very few will be unhappy to see. The opposite of Shining Needle Castle, this incident forces everyone to dump all other cards for lunatic cards.
Savvy players will understand that this can really reduce your defenses in hand though, so be wary of that!
