Getting there!

Hello everyone! I have happy news. The "primary structure" animation (legs, arms, torso, head, hands, etc) is now complete. What remains are all the little things that follow; breast bounces, eyelids, cloth sims, muscle jiggles, etc.. Those will all be next. It is still early (probably too early) to make an estimate. But I am feeling that it's very possible the whole thing will be done around March 4th. Of course, as completion draws closer I can make a more educated estimate. I will kee...

Yui Remastered

Good news!

The entire first scene of the animation is done as far as bone animation. The first scene is basically the entirety of the YouTube preview. As I sleep, I will be "baking" out the entirety of the animation so I can move on to the next steps (breast bounces, cloth simulation, hair simulation). Getting close now! :)

Want to Hear Something Crazy?

I added a few more details to Yui's rig today. Well, that was the straw that broke the camel's back. The responsiveness has slowed to a crawl. It's not so bad if I grab her wrist and pull it around. But if I grab her root bone (the bone near the top of the heirchy), it slows down to one update every 2 or 3 seconds. This makes character animation almost impossible. A responsive interface is very important. So I will have to make a stripped-down rig, animate in this version, and save out al...

Her upper-body is fully rigged! Yay! Now all that remains are the abs, pelvis and legs. Most certainly the easiest areas.

Progress report...

I've just finished rigging Yui's shoulders, arms, hands and fingers. Fingers are notoriously one of the most complex parts of the rig. What remains are her pecs, lats, ribcage (for breathing), pelvis and legs. Then I can finally start animating!

Sorry about the stream of constant fail.. I hit a brick soon after starting my stream that brought me to a stand-still.. Once I get this problem all figured out I will restart the stream and post a new announcement

Release 16: Peaking

Peaking is at long last complete! This one was extraordinarily complex. Seriously.. It nearly broke me!! But I am happy she is finally animated and done. Coming Up Next...

Hey everybody.. Thanks again for your support on the last release. I've gotten a good amount of very positive feedback on the "animated painting"of Kira so.. Let's do another one! A bicep one this time :D I've decided to change my focus on the Yu project.. I'll working on her at the end of the month, instead of at the beginning. While I may very well be almost done, you never know what kind of problems will arise when working on prototype tech like this. This way I don't have to scramble...

Status Update

Hello everybody.. Just a little heads-up to what is going on.. I made a bunch more progress on Yu's rigging.. It's amazing how complex the forearms are! Anyway.. I think it's getting obvious she will not be done by month's end.. I have quite a bit of other nonsense I have to attend to and finish before December is here. So I have put her aside again and I am doing a new hand-drawn piece. I'm calling it "Special Guest Star." I am drawing it, but it is a fellow artist's original character ...

Living Flex Render Improvements

Here is a still image from the higher quality rendering of Living Flex. The skin material now has sub-surface scattering, the motion blur is better, the hair looks better, and the floor has diffused reflections.
