I need to animate the camera before the eyes so she can look at the camera now and then. Also I need to sim clothing on her that she can rip off of her. :)

Suki's body geometry is fully animated (growth included) from the top of her abs to the base of her toes. I am making some final adjustments to her hands and fingers now that her legs are in place before I finalize her upper body.

2019-03-21 17:40:52 +0000 UTC View PostWork is progressing well on Suki. There was an issue that bugged me about her smile from the previous animation so I went and made a new morph shape and modified her rig to install it so she smiles better now in my opinion.
I am currently doing her mouth animation for the whole sequence. Here's a fun preview attached. :)

And then edited together her vocals audio track. Last time I did the audio last but really this is how it should be done. Now I can modify her head animation to further synch with the audio as well as animate her breathing to match the audio.
More to come as she gets closer to completion!
2019-03-18 02:15:38 +0000 UTC View PostPhew! Major milestone today. Her hands are fully cleaned up & fingers animated for the entire sequence. Some re-adjustments will be necessary once her skin is in place but that was the plan all along. The neck and head animation cleanup is next.

2019-03-13 12:54:46 +0000 UTC View PostPhew! I've just finished animating Suki's hands for the most difficult portion of the animation; fingers included. The hands aren't animated for the rest of the animation but compared to what I just did, the rest is cake.
After the hands are done I need to do her neck & head.. Clavicles.. And then I think I am ready for facial animation. Then it's sim time as I round the corner towards the finish. Still a good bit to go but I am eating away at it....

Heyo,
Here's some stuff I did recently..
1. Added one more pair of weights on the weightbar.
2. Modeled the little curly metal clip on the ends of the weightbar to keep the plates on.
3. Rigged the weight bar with bones so it can bend slightly due to it's heavy load.
4. I had to alter Suki's starting position after putting the weight bar prop in place. In the attached video you can see her step into her original location.

Howdy! Here's a little progress report:
1. Elbows are cleaned up for the entire sequence.
2. Hands match the raw data for the entire sequence, though some manual adjustments will need to be done here and there (and over there as well).
3. Still early in the process of cleaning up footfalls but the hardest part is done (dat spin!).

I've just finished retargeting the cleaned up mocap data to her final rig.. Except for hand rotations.. And of course her feet. I usually hand-animate feet using the mocap as a visual reference. The elbows are funky because they will need hand-clean-up as well.
Overall it's fun to see her coming to life.

3. Created weightmaps for 14 body groups for #4:
4. Rigged a system of 14 sliders to automate the morphing of body parts from thin to buff, as well as dissolving in displacement maps and texture maps for said body parts.

I just did a mock-up test putting all of the vein elements together and it looks BAD-FUGGIN-ASS!

I am adding vascularity to Suki for her next animation. And I am trying a new approach this time around. In the past veins were painted as a single layer and used as a colour and displacement map. This time I am drawing them in different colour groups, with the thickest veins going to a "hero" group. Whereas before the vein lines were universally blurred, this new way will let me blur them differently for veins I want to distend more, and be more rounded. ...

I had a bold new idea of how I want to try skin textures for this next animation. I made a single UV map of her entire body and I will make a black and white texture mask for skin texture. Using a weight map I can alter the texture size so the details are more tiny around the eyes and nose, etc.
Technically, it's not really possible to dynamically change a noise pattern without it looking like a funhouse mirror. What I am doing is blending between four differently-size...

Forget everything I said.. The animation is still in two parts, (#48 and #49) and I am still very much behind schedule. :/
