Trying to get back into the mindset of doing my usual drawings. After months of only working on one project I feel a little rusty.

Its Finished!

Im finally done with the video! This is probably the biggest project Ive done. (at least on my own)

Its my entry for the Pink Floyd animation contest. Its for the 50th annivercary of Dark Side Of The Moon. I treated the video more as a personal project though.

The winners wount be announced until early next year so who knows how things go. In the meantime I hope you like the video and I'll return to my usual drawings next week!

Animation Loop

This is the seccond part of my entries for the Fink Floyd competition.

Im using the outro of the main video as the intro song of the album. I think if they pick my entries to be part of the final collection, I think it would make the whole watching experience feel more cohecive since it starts and ends with the same image. At least thats how I picture it.

Avionics Design

It again took me a few attempts to come up with the inside of the spaceship. Its a tough challange to design electronics that keep some ammount of art nouveau influence since there arent really any real life references that I can draw from and the style itself opposes the very nature of industrial design. Im pretty happy with the result tho. I think it matches the submarine qualities of the ship.

The display animation ended up looking much more 80s or 90s but I really wanted to go for a...

Spaceship Design

I was struggeling to find a spaceship idea that Im happy with. My first approach was to try and strike a balance between something thats grounded in real constraints of scpace travel and aesthetics.

However I quickly realized the since there are only very few shots in the animation shat show the spaceship Id rather go for something that looks stunning for those few moments. The whole video is more abstract anyways so realism shouldnt be the deciding factor here.

This was a fun shot to animate. I went straight from roughs to cleanup since being "on model" wastn really a concern here. It ended up having some wild looking still frames.
