a lil study with some snakes. i used a references to draw the basic things, and you can the differences haha. this would be a snake home at a border, as this was likely a little unit in real life near the currently broken borders

i was painting these as i was racking my brain for some comic ideas that i asked about yesterday. besides my favorite the nautilus, i left myself blank haha. 

ill probably do some snek paintings, as a form of landscape practice! you know, getting better at some free hand backgrounds.

a quick piece for the medieval au

not the best so far, but these were some paintings. fundamentally they are meant to be wayyy less transparent than jellyfish and also have no eyes. they are  overall toxic with their stingers that even reach their fingers. 

they have varying levels of fingers and toes with different soft bodies, such as large ankles and thick forearms.

i have an au... where all the numbers are members of the church? or some miedeval religious setting. they are still experiments, but this time they got their freedom themselves and were either assigned in the church or made a church compromising them as members. they live in their and complete tasks handed down by the upper management or royalty.

finagled a lot with the 3d model and shading engine, then drew over the characters. it looks moderately okay! 

this is what they would be in a formal setting. they are usually employed as bodyguards for the wealthy or important. if not they do millitary missions, but these types of jobs are catered to the less agressive numbers like 002 and 007.

i used a 3d model that i then painted over, and added in the characters. it wasn't easy and im not completely satisfied, but the idea was there and i have implemented it to the best of my ability. so far the characters kinda look like they are blended with the scene semi realistically.

using what i drew i limited the designs to those in particular. this is still explorative and i will likely never be satisfied, but today this was good!

you can see the diamond shape is very strong in this one, which im happy that i kept it as the main key design.

IMPS: clothes exploration

from different classes. this is nowhere near satisfactory for me, but this is a template of ideas of who wears what. 

mages wear jewelry and almost always wear cloth with patterns or colors. high mages are commonly known to wear head tops, flat in particular. they mimic but not always the appearance of shamans. but their headdress makes the distinction clear.

meant for more formal occasions, like ceremonies and celebrations, usually related to oneself rather than others. infact, he would wear more than this, including more fabric and heavy designs from tip to toe of the cloth. the veil is meant to be a respectful gesture, not uncovering until the main event starts.  the necklace is the symbol of the gods in a diamond outer shell. 

Imp homes exploration

these are for the coastal imps, but there's general practice architecture and mainland imp ideas. there's also some designs that i'm playing with for more variety.

SERPENTS: sari/saree exploration

watching videos on how one would wear a saree/sari is interesting. its very complicated to imagine in a 3d space. the saree is just a long piece of cloth that is added to clothes for a finishing look. its also used as the main ingredient to an outfit. 

there's no pin versions and ones where pins are needed. most of them likely need a petticoat to use underneath a sari, where the cloth can be stuffed into for security. these are just the forms i was researching, not to mention that ...

from my idea, this was an inmate turned labrat with a very serious grudge. this inmate was imprisoned for murdering his abuser, even though the defense was justified. he met 3 other inmates who he gained a strong love for but all of them were taken to become lab rats. during the monsterification, he retained partial memories and all of his ego. he escaped with his exceptional handling of his new serpent flesh body. the facility was busted...

due to the nature of a serpents home, its time to bust out the hand drawn backgrounds. rip to my lacking skills but ill make due! 

trying to figure out what things will be needed in their big bedroom is hard haha, like how many vases, books, tapestries, constructed builds do i need to for it to look lived in and filled? so difficult.

SERPENTs: more clothes

there's many ways to wear and make underwear, the easiest being a squarish piece of cloth attached to 2 pair of strings for security. another type is a soft but stretchy cloth that wraps very snuggly, either being reinforced with a lace or a button. 

theres many designs to make with for this species so like imps i need to seperate key markers for each tribe. the diamond pattern will be its main theme for a tribe ill be working with.
