Old lineup - rough roughs

This is even sketchier than the other roughs, but I thought it was good to share since it goes into my character designing process a bit. You can see right away Pamu held pretty true to her original design, while Alpha and Fumi needed small adjustments to theirs. Once again, on the left is another iteration of poor Nina. She went through so many changes :P poor lass.

Those concepts on the far right are just plain silly. There are a lot of angel and devil types in anime but I was struggling to ...

Phwoo these are really old / rough... You can see the original concept for our 'idol singer' on the bottom left, who eventually turned into Alpha. Also, two girls over from her is Nina's original design. Back then she was just 'meganekko' the maid girl. I still sort of fancy the ninja girl and would love to come back to her design one day, if people like the idea of a ninja type *wink*

Luna Cosplay - First Stage

Aaahhh! This is the coolest thing ever! I couldn't help myself, and I

had to commission a cosplay of Luna because I love her so much. I

reached out to a very talented and sweet cosplay armor maker named Ae Ri

who started working with me to flesh out Luna's cosplay design. This is an early work-in-progress shot! Eeeeee

Old lineup - roughs for the original cast

These aren't the oldest concepts I could find but they are pretty ancient. You can see in this original lineup I was planning a different color scheme/outfit for Nina. I think the current live version is much better. There are also really rough character designs for a hunter, an angel, devil, mech, and magic girls :3 There's Luna on the end! Even from the start I knew I wanted to do a kickass sorceress.

New Girl Preview - original roughs

Here are some eeeeaaaarrrrrllllly costume exploration for our upcoming girl Luna. I wanted something inspired by dark elves in WoW, plus a bit of the Slayers anime aesthetics.

Elle Animation - Color Key

This is an important reference for the cleanup artist who will be inking and coloring our animation. I have to communicate over email because they don't live nearby, so my color notes have to be thorough. I really hope it goes well and these notes make sense :P It might also be useful for anyone who wants to do fanart of Elle *wink nudge*

Elle Animation - Critique

When I collaborated with our super fantastical animator friend, I typically went over every key frame with these 'red lines' when I felt it wasn't quite on model. He was really great about taking my critiques and implementing them. It's a neat process, especially when you compare the early storyboards to the pencil stage :)

Elle Animation - Final Pencils

She turned out so beautiful!! Our animator friend did an incredible job, and I'm so excited with the way she moves and her sweet eyelash flutter *_* Next up: Gotta commission a cleanup artist to ink and color the lines!

Elle Animation - Rough Pass

This is one of the coolest stages of the animation - the first pass. It's so loose and rough, but captures all the movement and emotion perfectly. This is sort of like the middle stage, then a tighter pencil test comes next. Elle looks so cute!

If you watched the Patreon video you would have seen a teaser for Elle's animation. So I'll start posting some of the work in progress stuff for that here! Starting with this super rough storyboard I made, which basically described the key frames/poses I wanted to see in her final animation.
