A BACKER BONUS VIDEO???

I don't make a lot of these (trying to figure out a way to do more) because it's mostly for outtakes but I don't have a lot of those that are worth watching. Recently though I was in Atlanta at a Baby Driver location and filmed a short video. I posted it to twitter but not publicly to youtube or anywhere else. I am currently cutting the Film Nerd video and it's going very quickly. I should definitely have it done by tonight and uploaded tomorrow afternoon barring any technical issues! Our internet wasn't working on and off last night and if that happens again today I'm going to be upset haha

If I get the shorter essays (the Baby Driver and Ghostbusters ones) done before the end of the month I might early release them on here using an unlisted video or early access or something and then release them ...

A review???

I saw Baby Driver last night and typed up a review of it on my phone that I might record and cut a video out of. I am hesitant to be a critic but writing a review is so much faster than a lot of the doc-style stuff I do and I'm trying to figure out a way to get a video out every 1-2 weeks. Obviously I wouldn't just churn stuff out! But maybe not every video on the channel needs to take me 50+ hours haha. We'll see! If I'm not happy with it it won't go up but I feel like I articulated how I feel ...

Currently thinking about trying to make some shorter videos that won't be so complicated/time consuming to help keep content coming between short films and half-hour documentary essays. Recording today!!

Decided to make the film nerd I'm recording a standalone because it deals with filmmaking advice rather than culture and history. But it's definitely in that vein so it'll still have the film nerd title, it just won't be an episode (it has more than enough content for an episode, it just felt a little too different).

Recording the audio for that and the Man Man video right now. Also might retool this and make it a video as I had originally planned on doing but hesitated on because I was scared...

Gonna try to finish both this and the Man Man essay before the end of the month. Hopefully will get it in before the one year anniversary of Film Nerd 5 :)

This one is more advice-driven than research-driven so I wrote the full rough in one sitting just now (it's about low budget filmmaking). The Man Man essay took waaay more time to research and stitch together and will probably get way less views but as always I enjoy putting out a variety of stuff.

Most of the way through the script of a video essay on political correctness and "problematic" media. Maybe I'll be able to start pulling off a video essay a month on top of comedy stuff? Who knows!

I also got rid of the commentary aspect of the reward tiers since I felt like nobody really cared about it vs the amount of time it took to do especially with lengthier videos. I caught up on One Piece overnight this week and am prob gonna do a quick essay on that in the interim between longer/more researched essays.

I haven't been doing commentaries on videos because not very many people watched them/seemed into them vs the amount of time it takes to put one together. Do you all have any requests for something else I could do for the $10 tier instead (feel free to suggest even if you're at a lower tier)?
