This is very much a surprise to me because I was honestly thinking that either Unadi or Chryssi would win, but I'm looking forward to drawing Vi nonetheless.

I'll probably use the warmup I did back in the day involving her as one of the options for completion since I actually really like that one, and I'll see about doing another option just so see how tha...

Welcome to April everyone! 

March was taken up by mostly sketching and concept stuff for the next comic, but despite that I was able to get a few projects that have been sitting on the backburner for a while done, including some character redesigns and a cover for  Circus of Stones, a Waystone themed story series being done by Alps Sarsis.

The cover image is finished! Just a little later than I had expected but still a part of the material for March. 

The upper left hand corner seems a little blank but at the same time that's where the logo and chapter title are gonna sit, so I needed to make that area relatively blank, lest whatever was in the background interfere with it. 

 I also lament not being able to somehow get Mihr's face into the shot but everything else about the image came out the way I wanted it...

"Circus of Stones" cover sketch

I've been meaning to create a proper cover image for Alps Sarsis' story series, "Circus of Stones" for quite some time now and thought I'd take the end of March to finally get this done before moving into comic/dakimakura territory next month (Tsenaya dakimakura incoming, btw!).

I'm thinking of having it be raining in the background but I'm still experimenting with that so that it looks right. In the meantime, I'm hoping I'll be able to get this finished by tomorrow evening, but if not ...

"Sleepless Nights" Scene 1, concept sheet

Alright! I'm trying something a little different with this comic's preparation work- instead of doing a large set of backgrounds and then copy/pasting them into the scenes as I was doing in Skin Deep, I figured I would try doing a diorama version of the background, with colors, and place settings of different props and basically draw the backgrounds in the comic itself on the fly.

We'll see if this ends up being more or less stressful than my previous background method! I find that the ...

"Cleanup"

After a long day supervising sharks and building sea-craft Kaila takes a few minutes to clean off the grease and grime...just because she's had a long day doesn't mean she's too tired to show off the goods!

I gotta tell you it was really weird to try and pull off the glass of the shower without obscuring the Yeen too much- I'm still not 100% sure I got it right, but at least you can tell there's glass there and that she's pressed up against it!

Again, my apologies for such a slow month everyone- March is going by SO fast and I have no idea where the time's gone.

Unfortunately I've suffered an art block/burnout from the combination of a lot of stresses that kinda showed up out of nowhere.

Callie Briggs from Swat Kats was arguably one of my first furry crushes, after Colleen from Road Rovers (only Cursed Children remember...). As Alps Sarsis has been working on revamping and restarting the Circus series (it's been a while, I know!), I thought I'd go ahead and do some official art of the three main characters- Unadi, Crisod and his son Seilie (pronounced Say-Lay). 

I've gotta go in and fiddle with Mihr's design as well and get a cover for the book done, but this character sheet was necessary before I did any of that.

February always surprises me with how short a month it is! Despite that, I was able to get quite a bit done this month, though I wasn’t able to get as much concept work done on Sleepless Nights as I would have liked, though at least the characters are designed and the story is totally written!
