Good Morning foxes!
This weekend we had to remove a lot of burrs from Finnegan’s tail, and for those who are unfamiliar, foxes very much dislike having their tails touched - not unlike your cat and their tummy. Believe it or not, foxes have very delicate bone structures, so they use that very fluffy tail to keep other foxes and predators away from things that are theirs. They would much rather another fox grab that tail, than say, grab their leg.
Finnegan had two big clumps of burrs and even though he r...

Happy Caturday from all of us here at Fox HQ!

We had a very freaky week here at Fox HQ, but yesterday was the doozy icing on top of the crazy cake - so crazy in fact that we wanted to bring it to you in a separate update from our weekly round up!
As you know it’s been a full moon this week, and this always makes the foxes a little twitchier than normal; tempers have been shorter, sharing food and toys has been markedly less and cuddles have been slimmer in their pickings; but yesterday was a hum dinger.
One of our smallest...

We always say that female foxes never get on; that it’s a rule with very few exceptions. The exceptions come when females are either under a year old, or when they have come from a fur farm and are too scared of their surroundings with no dominant female present to fight amongst themselves.
When Winter decided that she was going to call the arctic yard home, we hoped it would all work out; after all, Lumi, Esmae and Franny are all females and all get along.
When Win...

Happy Mustelid Monday!
Chichi is a Mink! She is in the mustelid family that includes over 65 other species; most commonly, the otter, ferret, and weasel.
The animals within this family group are carnivores and cannot process vegetable matter.
Chichi is one of our educational animals. So she is not adoptable; she is also deaf, which is a genetic trait in her colour morph.
Chichi loves going to school to educate the children on the fur-industry and her species.

Recently came upon my childhood diary. This was before I met my first fox. I was amazed to read 'specialize in a certain kind of animal.'
Looks like I landed my dream job!
IT IS NEVER TO LATE TO FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS!
Confession 😂😉
My spelling hasn't changed much. Luckily no one knows that since my phone corrects it.

Amber’s foster shared this video with us yesterday - how amazing is her progress after only a couple of weeks with him? She has gone from a kitten you couldn’t get near to a chatty, snuggly girl - just like her mum and sister. There’s still work to do, but I think we can safely say her spice level has gone from a 9 to a 5!
Well done Amber!

Malachi loves to be carried. Which isn't common for most foxes.

As I am sure you can imagine, we have to jump through many hoops before we can begin construction and finishing closing on our Florida property. The following video will provide an update on the most recent round of meetings to take place.

Our wonderful old man and I wanted to check in and give you all an update on your tier benefits!
We will begin shipping benefits at the end of March so please, if you’d like to receive them, ensure that your shipping address and name are visible to us; for those who are entitled to a discount code, you have had one temp one so far, we will issue your more permanent one soon; though this will still change semi-regularly and we will let you know when we make a change.
A week ago today we lost our beloved Tonia Fox, and honestly, I cannot say that her passing is any easier for any of us here at Fox HQ. Our videographer, Seth, kindly put together this beautiful tribute to her and we wanted to share it with our patrons first.
Thank you again for your kindness whilst we grieve.

During some 1-on-1 time today, Bongo decided to show off his modelling skills and I think it’s safe to say it’s impossible for him to take a bad picture.
Which is your favourite?

Foxx Foxington is a blue Arctic fox
Age is unknown. We estimate him to be around 5 years old.
He came from an animal seizure situation with several raccoons, Shadow fox, and Dakota coyote.
His original name was snowflake. He didn't like the name either!
Foxx Foxington gets along very well with female red foxes. He has however bonded very quickly with fellow blue arctic female Lumi.
It's more uncommon for the Red Fox species to get along with the Arctic foxes tha...

Please welcome to SaveAFox Rescue this 10yr old marble fur farm fox. Bongo is no longer the oldest fox at the rescue!
This will be this sweet, old mans first time placing his paws on the soft ground, being able to dig, being able to play, have toys, treats, move around in anything more than a tiny space.
We’d also like to welcome a new fire and ice fox, who is still very young. We missed seeing a blonde in the yards after Oakley’s adoption and so we are pleased to be able to ...
