Poor Lan

Hey guys, I know it's been a while since my last post! Sorry sorry, I've been doing a LOT of sketching but very little polishing? Lan has been my main focus as of late - yeah he's totally a rip off of Luke but I don't really care, Luke is a huge coping mechanism for me and he makes me incredibly happy. (His design is kinda like he and Fifteen had a baby which is another thing I'd be fine with because I'm a loser.)

So here he is being a balloondrgn. I think someone gave him a few pumps too ...

Fifteen crying is... weird, as you can see. I dunno who all cares, but I did this anyway. It's mostly vent art that I'm pretending (read: cleverly disguising) I did as a learning experience.

1.) Fifteen's blood is, usually, yellow; the blood rushing to his face is supposed to look like that, I promise. I chose not to color his tongue however. ... I am not sure why.

Just some vent art. I feel kind of bad having such a difficult time existing despite all of the friends and love and support I have. Sometimes, simply knowing you're all out there is really helpful - sometimes it's not, and those latter times feel the worst. Like I don't have the right to be sad. I mean logically, I have depression - sometimes I get sad, and I struggle even with all of the love and care I receive.

So I finally got MediBang Paint to work.

It's a little underwhelming, sad to report, kind of like its predecessor imo. For some reason though, I have a REALLY easy time sketching in it, and this entire piece was actually done in it. o_o I'm curious to see if they'll continue to expand the program in the future.

Trying to do more 'freeform' fat by drawing circles in layers, then putting weight on them. Seems to be working out, at least a bit. thoughts? Legs always kick my ass, so @__@

Trying to find out how to make the line-art tool not fucking binary is my next step. I like how it feels but ffs is that necessary. (This is at like, 66% zoom, so you can't see all the jagged lines)

More practice on Krita. I know absolutely /nothing/ about how to draw bones or skeletons or anything. Also the worst part of switching art programs is realizing no one uses the same 'multiply' or 'luminosity' layer type. Like on Manga Studio the 'Add' setting makes it hella bright and glowey and on Krita it's like, a desaturated filter?

Anyway, have a Sans. If you have not played Undertale, continue having a Sans, but buy the fucking game.

i like krita, and i'm trying hard to like it a -lot-

but it should not take 30 minutes of my time to figure out a text tool because it's bugged and won't de-select my goddamn text no matter what i do, to the point even when the text layer is rasterized it has a selection background on it

anyway, if i ever get the chance to do my comic, here's concept work! i likely won't but hey, a guy can dream.
