still just messing with the design but for the right: i like the leaf over the face in this one. here i was thinking she has a special interest in magic (tarot cards and runes and stuff) and carries around all of her stuff in a small backpack and for the left: i like the turnip tail on this one and how stubby the feet are. i also like some of the design on the leaves

ill probably settle on something soon and do a couple more paintings!

adding a SPICY tier!

hey ya'll, i've been asking around and figuring out what people would like to see in this patreon and the two most common requests i'm getting are tutorials and a nsfw tier. and of those a nsfw tier is the easiest to add immediately so i will be doing that first. the plan is to have at least one nsfw painting each month, either a new character or one of my oc's. starting out there won't be a vote but i may eventually add one

i tend to think best about a character while im painting them, so here im painting another early sketch and thinking about things like what they do and who they are plus keeping in mind ideas that i want to add or change going forward. the tattoo on the arm started as a weird effect from the rough brush that i use. im not trying to fully develop that right now but just basically put in a note on this painting for when i do the next one. next time, working from the start with that in mind, ill...

this is a wip piece that I was doing for patreon a while back but I was just never happy with it. i might eventually finish it up. i remember i was trying the most pain in the ass method for setting up the painting on this one and like none of the extra effort really made that much of a difference lol

DECEMBER CHEERLEADER BAT

this is MEG! i will be putting the process up for this as soon as it's ready, but how do ya'll like these sort of pages of paintings rather than the illustrations I was doing before? I feel like these give me more of a chance to explore a character and focus on my drawing and design (which are some of my weakest areas).

Holiday Ungulates

Some little painted sketches trying a few new things! Here I've drawn the characters a bit differently but I've also not rendered every element of each image. I love how everything looks when it's rendered but I feel like with highly stylized faces especially rendering it out really takes away a lot of the appeal. Sketch!

Trying yet another idea I had for how to start my work and structure my values. Here I started by drawing the piece and creating a gradient from a grey to black like usual but instead of waiting until the end to add my highest lights I added them into the gradient and then painted over them (where the hand is there). I think it's a good idea but I need to work with it a bit. Gives it the effect that it's glowing and I really like that. I'll try to apply it in this months Patreon piece!
