So... I've been thinking about Soverign Stones, (and before anyone panics, I'm not dropping it) and I feel like I tried to push the story too much. I'm going to refactor the story a little, putting 2-3 chapters of slice of life in before the current chapter 2 would probably make it flow better. I'll make a plan tonight and maybe work on it tomorrow.
I frowned and wiggled the uncomfortable, thick metal watch strap back and forth. “Does it have to be this tight...

“You know, when you said you were planning to build a fortress in the middle of the city I thought that was figuratively, not literally,” Amy muttered.
“I don’t do anything half assed!” I snorted.
All around us the twelve foot tall bear-acade walls drove their automated anchors into the street, turning a previous wide open intersection into a fortified stronghold. As soon as they were secure my bears clambered up the ladders, and onto the battlements, ready ...

So, I've been asked by someone to explain exactly what's going on in Imaginary. I'm illuding to a lot of concepts, but taking a while to explain them.
Fair. Most of them will probably be explained in the next 5-6 chapters, and since I like to release 10 chapters day one for new fictions, it wouldn't take long for me to get to those concepts after release.
I'm intentionally slowly dripping out the information because I want it to come out organically. Most of the concepts aren't...

“Three hives down, only a couple dozen more to go,” I grumbled as we made our way back out of the hive.
Once Saber had retrieved Trench’s remains, the clean up had been quick and painless. Stuff flesh melters into every possible crevice, and watch everything turn to goop. I kept expecting the Model Seventeen to jump out and try to ambush us at any moment, but it just never happened.
I might have started to second guess what I saw during that fight, if it wasn’t...

“I didn’t think we’d be leaving the city for this,” I muttered as the scenery outside the window flew by. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d been outside our little neighbourhood, never mind the greater urban area. I didn’t exactly crave the great outdoors, but I could appreciate the novelty of traveling down the back roads, through these quaint rural areas.
Between the rough road, which caused the BEI van to rock violently and the fact tha...

I made some minor changes to the end of chapter two, and since the start of chapter three wouldn't make sense without them, I included them here. It should be fairly apparent where the changes come in, the first line is the same as an existing line in chapter two.

Laying one hand at the rapier at my hip I paced back and forth for a couple seconds. Even though I tried to rationally evaluate the risks.

"I’m not leaving your side ever again,” Bob blubbered once he finally made it down into the cavern. “You almost died.”
“I’m really going to die if you don’t let me go,” I croaked into the bear's chest as he hugged me tight. “I can’t breathe!”
Thankfully the oversized blubbering cry baby let me go before his bone crushing hug actually broke any bones. As he gently lowered me to the ground Nora came storming out of one of the tunnels, fuming.<...

“Tammy, are you sure you don’t need anything else? You know anything we leave in the apartment will be taken to a storage locker. How can you fit everything you want into two backpacks?” my mother asked worriedly as I placed my two small bags on the small mountain of cardboard boxes she’d stacked at the door.
“Like what? I don’t have much. One bag for my school supplies, and another for my clothes and the plushie dad gave me. There are still some old toys, and books in the c...

The tunnel system was so narrow that the bears could only travel two a breast, and the samurai had to travel in a single file line. As an undercity dweller the enclosed space didn’t bother me, I actually found it comforting, but not everyone felt the same.
“It’s fine… I’ll be fine as long as I concentrate on the job at hand, and don’t think about it. Just take deep breaths,” Saber whispered under his breath. He probably thought no one would hear him, which said a lo...

So... I'm thinking that I'll be doing 2 chapters of Stones, and 2 chapters of Imaginary per week for the next few weeks, until I figure out exactly which one I'm going to publish on Royal Road and Scriblehub.
I'll probably add in the occational chapter of Wicked Witch, (I tried to get a chappy done over the weekend but couldn't get done it. T_T) I have a pretty clear idea of how long it'll take to get into the meat of each story (Img only 2-3 more,...

Little shorter today... I may try to pad it out later, but this seemed like a pretty natural place to leave off.
Once the Twenty-Ones were taken care of, the team swiftly moved on to dismantling the hive. Both Helen, and Saber had their own tech for destroying Antithesis flesh, one appeared to be chemical, while the other was a desiccant. The combination of the three methods was extremely effective at removing the surrounding vegetation, and within minutes the ...

“Was this really necessary?” Camille asked warily as we approached the edge of the village.
“Kill the Barghast? Absolutely. You saw the damage it caused to the livestock over the last two days, if we left it alone any longer it could have devastated our food supply,” I replied casually.
“Not that part! Why did we have to bring it back? This thing’s heavy!”
She shifted the carry pole the two of us were carrying, causing the massive dog shaped monster to s...

Here is the second half! It's a story I'd like to continue writing it, but lost some steam for a week or two. Mostly because even though chapters seven and eight are necessary, weren't as fun to write. I just have to get it into my head that 2-3 more chapters and I can get to the real start of the story... Showing other Empowered people, and the struggle they have go through.
Hope you're enjoying, let me know!

Everyone started yelling at once.
“Gather up, backs against the wall!”
“Watch for any sign! Don’t let them get close!”
“I just bought that fox, you assholes!”
Thankfully, due to the stress of the situation, no one really caught my somewhat inappropriate yell.
Within seconds everyone had huddled up, our backs against the wall, with the bears forming a protective cordon a couple feet further into the room. I say that, but most of...

Here's what I wrote today! Something different from my regular stuff... it's tropey as hell, full of systems, numbers, cores and tiny little maids. (They'll be featured a lot if continued)
Seriously though, it was inspired by the very FF image I linked in the post. I would absolutely give the artist credit, if I knew who they were, but I don't.
Anyways... I wasn't happy with the 'system stats' part. It was thrown together as I wrote, and if I continue writing this ...

Hey all! I'm still plugging away at the other test chapter for the day, (started with it, swapped to TBoB, now swapping back) but I thought I'd provide something for you to chew through.
This is a story I've been slowly plugging away at over a couple weeks. It's more of a character driven, slow burn than my other stories, but some of you may enjoy.
Unlike most of my other stuff, I've only touched on a lot of the concepts of the story by the end of chapter eight, and still haven'...

The entrance to the second hive was enormous, large enough that someone could have driven a semi into it. Even after clearing off the surface there was a slow, but steady, stream of Model Threes, Fours, and Fives pouring out of the darkness to stop us. That either meant that the hive was in full panic mode, and birthing antithesis early to aid in the defense, or the hive itself was large enough to support a birth every couple seconds.
It wasn’t anything to be that concerned abo...

Is this the end of the book? Probably. I may go back and add a few chapters near the end, if I think of anything else to add, but I think that's a good (and slightly evil) place to leave things.
As many of you have guessed, daddy dearest's disappearance had something to do with Montero-Wisteria, the big bad of my friend Alia's story Fata Morgana. The exact circumstances of his death will be told in detail there, but the fallout of the situation will be handled in TH Book three....

“I kind of expected to emerge out of that hole to a sea of bears,” Saber mumbled when we finally emerged from the now defunct hive. “Where’s your army?”
“Trying to contain the incursion and defend the surrounding towns,” I grumbled. “I didn’t expect the antithesis to not only launch an incursion, but also pour out of every hole in the area. I had enough bears to protect the civilian areas, and keep the antithesis contained, but I can’t afford to send them on t...

It took a lot longer to clear out the vegetation than I expected. Not only was it a lot more extensive than I imagined, but it grew back extremely quickly. In the end, we had to exhaust the hive's entire reserve of biomass, or energy, or whatever it was using to grow back before we could finally kill it.
The birthing pods, which we couldn’t find earlier, ended up being right under our noses. Just like the defensive heads, they were hidden under the carpet of greenery. It turned...

Donno why this took so long, and not sure if I'm super happy with this draft, but I'm pretty sure I can polish it up later.
Even though Bob’s reckless march straight through the tunnel walls wasn’t the smartest move in the world, it did provide a convenient path to finally access the hive.
As we carefully moved through the impromptu route, I was surprised to find that none of the tunnels had collapsed. The antithesis hadn’t coated their tunnels with th...

As much as I enjoyed riding in Skyler’s car, I was thankful we had the new truck for the ride home.
