Desert Maps: The Hive

Today's map is a remake, I was not happy with the original, you can see why if you download it Hive (old) and compare. I am however very happy with this one, I really like how the green glowing orb/egg/crystal casts such a deep shadow across the floor.

This map is also much larger than the others and I think the size increase also increases the quality so I'll be doing, larger maps in the future, they do take longer to colour though. :)

The brightest map I've done so far, I was goning to try a dirtier look as well but I really like how much it pops! 

Tommorrow I'm actually going to go over and redo the Hive map, I dont like how the orignal is coloured or the fact that its not really a map.

Desert Maps: Caravan

Back to it today and feeling a little better! This map has a large version with a bunch of extra space around it, thanks to a suggestion by one of my patreons. Its pretty useful for large scale fights and any ranged characters will love all the extra time to shoot! :)

Desert Maps: Digsite

This was a struggle, fun yes, but I've been suffering from a tooth ache for the past couple of days and it got quite bad last night. Turns out I have a infection where my wisdom teeth have come through. What a pain!

While I'm recovering I might take a break tomorrow and post a sneak peek on here for patreons for some upcoming maps. :)

Desert Maps: Dragon Skull

I spent some time getting the horns to look textured and have more a unique look rather than simply copying the bone on the rest of the skull. I'm pretty happy with the final result although I do think that I could go back to this at some point and rework the scales.

This map has 3 different coloured scales to represent, red, blue or green dragons!

Desert Maps: Obelisk

This map has a bunch of different versions, it would be somewhat annoying to play an RPG game with the 3D obelisk on the right hand side so there are versions without it! 

In addition there is a black stone obelisk version, for anyone looking for a more spooky obelisk. :D

Desert Maps: Tribal Camp

Each map that I colour improves on the last in some small way. I really love the interior but I feel like I need to spend more time on furniture and indoor lighting. 

As it stands the only light source in the circular room is coming from the central fire pit, ignoring any windows or light sources fro the door or even torches on the walls, something to think about anyway!

I really like the way this came out and I'll definitely be doing more maps with this kind of 3D wall effect. It was very time consuming to colour though, there are so many little highlights!

Edit: When updating this one, I could not, in ANY way get the grid to match up. The grid version here is the best I could do. I will try harder next time to draw things a little straighter! :)

This was not the first map in the series but is abit of an odd one. It needs to be much larger in order to really convey a crust depression.. another map to re-do at some point! :)

The Burning Goblins

A month ago, I released the Burning Goblins free version of DrivethruRPG and on blueswordgames.com. Today I sent a request to make the Bonus Content version public as well. It's been a long process, full of ups and downs, but i was determined to make it right and I really wanted a print version available to people that wanted one.
