Vampire Dragon

Well I am now officially behind on my smaugust list… However I will keep on trucking!

I also decided to do Vampire Dragon in addition to the other dragons on the list after being asked by one of my oldest patrons JLUnit and I loved the idea so much I had to jump on it!

They also made an amazing stat block for the creature as well which you can find alongside the image downloads! :)

Jungle Dragon

Not as happy with this dragon overall as I have been with many of the others. I realised as I was already colouring it that the pose was a little odd and thin for what I has in mind, either way it fit in with the others pretty well :)

Here is the full list of prompts that I will “try” and do every day this month

Baby Dragons

I did end up missing a day.. Or two now but I’m just going to keep going and try and keep up! Even if I end up doing a few dragons in September Iat least I’ll have a huge pack of dragons in the end :)

Today I did a baby dragon! And then since it was very small, I decided to do a few different re-colours as well! :)

Here is the full list of prompts that I will “try” and do every day this month. :D

Feathered Dragon

Two posts in one day!

Here is the feathered dragon, which turned out looking much more evil and sinister than I originally intended but that might just be the colouring :)

I may miss a day tomorrow as I will be attending a wedding but I will try and catch up!

Here is the full list of prompts that I will try and do every day this month.

Faela

Today I’m posting a map I finished last week, it's a little region map made for Luciella Scarlett, a wonderful TTRPG writer that is currently working on her own RPG game!

If you would like updates on when the RPG is going to ready go and follow her on twitter and say hello! :) https://twitter.com/LuciellaES

This was a really nice little map to work on and because its a purely black and white map (with a...

Bone Dragon

I think this one has more little intricate line art bones than any other token I’ve ever made… It turned out pretty well though!

There is a definite influence from back when I used to play World of Warcraft during the Wrath of the Lich King and the overall shape is quite chunky, but still it fits with the other dragons and I’m really happy with it!

Here is the full list of prompts that I will try and do every day this month.

Venom Dragon

Originally I was going to use the dragon template that I've used before in order to create all these dragons but that hasn't really happened :D

Instead I've had a bunch of fun actually drawing these from scratch and each dragon so far has been really unique. This venom dragon for example was based on a snake and the pattern ended up looking great!

Flower Dragon

I can't help taking these dragon prompts in weird and wonderful places and today I finished up the Flower Dragon!

Everything about this dragon is based around an actual flower! From the flower itself at the head, to the thorned body, all the way to the roots at the tail :)

Here is the full list of prompts that I will try and do every day this month.

Fairy Dragon

I think I could have made the background space a little smaller for this one… but at least its consistent XD

This is the cutest little token I’ve ever made and I’m super confident that if I actually end up doing all 31 dragons it will improve my token making skills considerably! Each one has been its own challenge and I think thats going to coniute based on some of the strange concepts I have to draw :D

Underwater Dragon

This is going quite well!

Today I've drawn a deep sea underwater dragon with glowing bioluminescent colouring!

I've got a nice little rhythm going and I'm pretty sure I can do a token every day in addition to other work :)

This was a very difficult one to draw however as I wanted to draw a dragon that you could use for underwater adventures and encounters, which meat pretty much drawing everything from scratch rather than using my normal dragon template.

Here is the fu...

Forest Dragon

I always try to find inspiration from everything and anything I can. In this case the art challenge of Smaugust caught my eye and I decided I might as well give it a try!

I do love drawing dragons and even if I can't keep up, I will still have drawn at least a few ;)

Project Deios: Update Day 11

Project Deios is now entering the midpoint of the kickstarter and its doing incredibly well! I think that by the end will hit the final stretch goal and unlock a standalone desktop application!

This is really exciting stuff and I'm so happy with all the support we have received over the last week and a half, thank you to everyone who has backed so far!

Dragon Pond

Another map in the forest series today with the Dragon Pond! A map made for those secluded little encounters where a lost party member is pulled into a glittering pool, deep within the forest..

This was really really fun to colour and I absolutely love how the water came out on this one! :)

There is a rain version of the free map in the downloads below, I will probably be doing autumn and winter versions of these maps for patrons a little later as well.

Forest Glade

Let's get the ball rolling on this little forest series with the Forest Glade! A beautiful clearing in a dense temperate forest perfect for ambushes or a final encounter with a ferocious monster!

Oh and there is a rain version of the free map in the downloads below, I will probably be doing autumn and winter version of the same map for patrons as well :)

This is the first of 6 maps ...

Sneak Peek: Forest Maps & Assets

With the change of all my names online from Blue Sword Games to Caeora I thought it would be a good chance to make some really useable and common types of maps as a springboard with my new little logo on the bottom right.

I made the assets sheet first with a ton of detail, these are very nice high res images and once coloured you will be able to build your own maps using them in a ton of different ways.

However before colouring anything I also decided to use the asset line art its...

The Azure Sea

I've been playing in a Dungeons & Dragons game live on twitch.tv/dnd for the past few weeks, it's been an amazing experience so far and we have 8 episodes left before my character Flick probably dies in some way ;) The Azure Sea is being used by Guy (The Great GM) to run a treasure hunt for our Call of the Kraken game and also serves as the region map for our campaign as well.

Even before I asked to be a member of the cast, I was involved in Project Deios and part of the collaborati...

 Short Bit

After nearly a year thinking about this, I will be changing my Patreon, Website, Discord and almost all other instances from Blue Sword Games to Caeora. This will happen over the next few days.

Long Bit

I am a somewhat reflective person that spends the majority of my time listening to fantasy music and drawing maps. This leads to a great deal of time thinking and one of the subjects I’ve been thinking about for some t...

Secret Things.

Phew... I have not posted anything in a little while..

Sorry everyone! :)

I have been working on something very important, nothing to do with Project Deios (although I will be making a post about that later) and nothing to do with streaming every Saturday on the Dungeons & Dragons channel on twitch. (although that is also going very well)

This is something very very special.

Probably one of the most important maps I will ever make.

Oh yes, its one map and it'...

Project Deios: Aldgard

Project Deios is revealing more and more!

I can now talk about the city builder! At least in a vague way… :)

So if anyone has not heard about Project Deios yet, I’m working with a few of the most amazing individuals and companies in the tabletop roleplaying game industry to make something amazing. Dungeon Fog, World Anvil and The Great GM, oh and myself are making something really special, and as we work on it, we are letting people know about the project with litt...

Arctic Creatures: Token Pack

Normally I do one or two tokens at a time.. However today I’m putting a huge pack of 24 arctic creatures all up at the same time!

These should work perfectly with my newer style of map with the same width line art and colouring and will allow you to make bunch of custom encounters really easily. These were also a little smaller in terms of the line art and detail than I usually make for my tokens and thus did not as much time to finish. Which is good! Because I might able to fin...

Frozen Forest

Drawing snow is harder than it seems on paper.. On the one hand you don't need to draw as many details, but that means you have large areas without any detail XD it can make the overall map look empty. But this is a good base to improve on in the future :)

Also this is a very basic kind of map from me but it will work fantastically with a token set I’ve been working on, containing 24 arctic creatures that should be up tomorrow!

Sneak Peek: Iceworm Coast

(Normally I make these sneak peeks for patrons only but I would be really interested to know what everyone thinks about this style of coastline!)

This is going to be the next Dragon tier exclusive map, a small region covered in ice and snow, with a giant world tree, thick forests and viking themed settlement icons. However for a while now I've wanted to up my game when it comes to drawing coastlines, rather than simply drawing a line.

I think this looks pretty good! But its takes ...

Kingsreach

Most the time when I create setting maps, for regions or worlds I take my time, spending days and even weeks on it, until it's as perfect as I can make it. This map however was made in two days for a wonderful writer named Jordan who is writing his own setting called the Divine Realms. This was not a commission per say as I made this to practice a few things but he does have the rights to this map so please do not use this in commercial projects.

I think this is great starter map ...

The Ruined Bifrost

“Bifrost (pronounced roughly “BIF-roast;” Old Norse Bifröst) is the rainbow bridge that connects Asgard, the world of the Aesir tribe of gods, with Midgard, the world of humanity. Bifrost is guarded by the ever-vigilant god Heimdall. During Ragnarok, the giants will breach Heimdall’s defenses and cross the bridge to storm Asgard and slay the gods.”

Here is the first of the Vikings & Snow maps! My take on the rainbow bridge, a little ruined and broken but is still...
