Big asterisk on the best of 2019 list - as much as i love these films, hbo's Watchmen was better than all of them. The Boys and The Mandalorian could probably knock out a couple, too.

Just watched the finale (series/season?) of hbo's Watchmen. Utterly loved it. Utterly loved the series, as a whole; thought it was a worthy follow-up to Moore's masterwork on almost all fronts...(<spoilers>arresting Ozymandias can fuck right off, though; that was archaic ass pre-Hannibal 2013 era teevee morality. </spoilers>)

Only real complaint is there were rumors that Marionette and Mime, the two best new characters to emerge from the DC/Watchmen crossover series Doomsday...

The other night, dreamt i was watching Doctor Sleep, Episode 9, and The Lighthouse, simultaneously. They eventually all bled together into one screen, with Palpatine chasing Obiwan through the Overlook's hedge maze, Pattinson and Dafoe screaming at each other on top of the Death Star wreckage, and so on. It was magical.
