Cards on the Table

26 is done. One more short chapter, and things start to fire up.

Quenching the Thirst

Chapter 25 done. A lot of thirst gets quenched in this one.

The Long Path

Chapter 24, a short, Godfrey-centric chapter is done.

Heart of a Hero

As predicted, chapter 23 was brief; so brief, it was written in one day. Onwards to the next!

Ill Fate

Chapter 22 is done, a short one. Next ones will probably be short too, as we are almost in place for everything to go horribly wrong (or horibly right, depending on whose view point you take).

22. Cold Quarter

Next chapter is done. As usual in the start of a chronicle, it goes a bit slow to write, but it feels good to return to Adalrik and all its characters. Really looking forward to writing many of the events and twists of this chronicle.

Beyond the Price of Gold

Chapter 20 is done. Intrigues are gearing up in Middanhal, as the house of Vale seeks to consolidate its power.

19. Falling Sands

First chapter of the 5th chronicle has been completed. We're back in Middanhal. Although deep in winter, intrigues and plots are as thick as ever, and we're only getting started.

18. Where Songs Are Made

Another chapter done, and the end of the 4th chronicle of Adalmearc. Now onwards to Middanhal!

16. We Pray + 17. Sins of a Father

I lied a bit in the last post. Turns out there are three chapters left until the chronicle is ended; I realised I needed a bit extra in the last chapter, and it would work better dramatically to split it into two.

I completed two of these remaining three over the last few days, though, including a character death I was planning for a long time. For real this time, one chapter left and the 4th chronicle is done (and by accident, this means it will be 18 chapters long like the 1st).

Solstice Gifts

Chapter 15 is done. Went fast in part because it wasn't so long, in part because I am hitting a good stride. Next two chapters are planned out, which will conclude the 4th chronicle.

To the Spear Be Bold

Chapter 14 is done. Writing battle chapters always goes faster than regular chapters.

Changing Guard

Draft of chapter 13 done.

Shadow War

Chapter 12 is done.

Chapter 11

Still going a bit slow, but chapter 11 is done, and started on chapter 12.

The Weapons of War

Been a while; wrote a short story and a Petrarchan sonnet for two competitions I entered, and of course, the holidays. However, the 10th chapter has been written, so we're back on track. A rough estimate says some 5-6 chapters should see the draft of the 4th chronicle finished, though I haven't planned out those chapters yet, so it could be more, could be less.

Progress update

Forgot to update, it seems. Chapter 8 and chapter 9 complete.

View Post

Draft of chapter 7 is complete. A bit short, but it makes up for it with its gruesome content. Onwards to chapter 8.

Chapter 6 is written, trouble brewing in Tothmor.

5th chapter is written. This concludes the time spent in Korndale and its court, and moves the plot to Hæthiod.

View Post

Winter solstice

Draft of chapter 4 is complete, a winter solstice celebration in Korndale. Been travelling for a few weeks, which caused slow progress. One more chapter in Korndale before the action moves to Hæthiod.

View Post

Chapter 3

First draft of the third chapter done. It took longer, because I had to finish revisions on a theatre play (another project), but we're back on track.

View Post

Progress

Draft of second chapter is complete, and made some headway into the third chapter.

View Post

Progress

The first draft of the first chapter is done. Planning the second chapter and will start writing it when I have time.
