No, he will not tie his shoe, in case you were wondering.
Here's the original sketch page, I changed it because I wanted the last frame of the page to be his full reveal. It gives a little more of Suzie's perspective, not quite recognizing him until he confirms who he is.
Here we are just two more pages to go before the pilot is complete!
The original page, like many of the others, was different the first time around.
I've been using a really old image for the icon, back towards the start of my working on My Magic Grandpa in fact, so it was due for an upgrade.
Here is the old one for comparison:
And he's here, our second main character of the series! This is the biggest reference sheet I've ever drawn, but he had a lot of specific details that were important to tying his overall design together.

So the original version of this page was far less dynamic and didn't really give a sense of 'everything is flying way over Suzie's head'. It also didn't flow well with the eyes and just looked like a disorganized mess. You can see what changes the page went through from this first draft:

This was another one that went through some drastic changes from the original sketch. I didn't like how the page flowed and the composition felt really cramped. Also I really wanted to give more of an otherworldly feel so I let Brookes break the panel barriers.
So the first image here is the original front facing pose I was going to draw Coach in for his reference, but something about it felt really lacking and stiff to me and I didn't like it.

Suzie actually hasn't changed much from her initial designs.
Fun fact though, she was inspired from a My Little Pony background character, Tootsie Flute.
The main thing that really changes for her is the shape of her hair and legs, but most everything else I feel works for her.
Here we go, page 3! This was another page that's initial sketch was different than the final result, again the same issue was that I wanted Mr. Brookes to be more lively and dramatic. Suzie was calling him a weirdo but he wasn't acting like one, and that just wouldn't do.

This page was interesting, it originally had a different layout but I didn't feel it flowed as well. Here is what the original sketch looked like:
Obviously the main issue was how stiff and lifeless Mr. Brookes was, so I gave him much more energy and made the angles more interesting.
