Contemplate Domestic Tranquility

For a short time I was developing color film, but the color process is very temperature-sensitive .. and NOW, for some reason, the company I bought the kit from will no longer ship the chemicals.  I'm not driving to New York to get them, so - no more color.

Anyway, I do have some color rolls that I shot.  Here we see Keiko through a liquor haze, lurking attentively in the background of this homey scene.

Hanging the Mistletoe

Did I post this already?  I don't think I did.

The Minister of Wet Tee Shirts is doing the honors of hanging the ceremonial mistletoe, an ancient elvish custom which is supposed to ward away the Kringle.  Underneath the mistletoe is the only safe place to sneak a smooch during this tense & uneasy time of year.

Here's the first production with the modular setup, at an early stage where I had the Mutable Grids drum pattern generator and a BASTL Skis twin VCA to chop a few of these droning oscillators into notes.

The tambourine sound is a 6-squarewave Synthrotek Nandemonimum drone running through one channel of Skis, triggered by Grids.  The other swirling droning sound is coming from a BASTL Kastle mini synth with one side of its stereo output droning, and the other side poking through the other ...

Frost on the driveway melted in the sun but stayed frozen in the shadow of the house, creating this bizarre effect.

Okay, they're not gonna do it.

After a week of complete pandemonium and patrons jumping ship like .. something that leaves quickly in large panicking groups .. Patreon realized the new fee scheme was probably a Bad Idea.  I've received an official email informing me that the plan is off.

This after I just put all of the "real" prices in my tier descriptions and created a new reward that was going to cost exactly $22.99 with the new fees!  Now that tier doesn't make any sense at all.

Well, I can definitely do that.  This is the other mannequin.  She and Shuri were identical twins originally (with different wigs and in different poses of course.)  Shuri was in worse shape though, so I remade her into a skunk-elf / Gelfling.  All I did to Keiko was paint her green & give her pointy ears like a Vulcan.

*All of these black & white shots were taken on film and developed in toxic chemicals the old fashioned way!
