Hand Pencil topper and keyring. (Bonus)

Hey There,

I've been wanting to create this pencil Topper for a while now.

In fact, I created a version of it about a year ago, but quickly realized that scaling the hand down this much would require significantly beefing up the joints...sooo that's what I did.

The links are still pretty small, so make sure you have your printer dialed in.

It also comes with a stick, so if you are having trouble printing it at it's current size, Scale it up!  just...

Flexi Astronaut Done!

A lot of little changes since the Beta.

*I added some extra detail. helmet arms legs etc...

*He sits better.  It really bugged me that when you set him at the end of a table he just wanted to slide off. I didn't totally eliminate this tendency, but it's a bit better. 

*I also feel it's easier to get him to stand. (Although it's possible that I just got better at it 😁)

Flexi Astronaut (Beta)

Yep the visor opens and closes. I've actually been noodling how the visor was going to work for a while now, and I can't be happier with how it functions.

To open and close it you can either flip it with your finger, or just rotate the head like the eyes on one of those creepy old dolls.😁

There are a few more details I'm still planning on adding, so I'm keeping this guy in Beta for now.

Also, It is possible to get him to stand, but it's really tough.

Flexi Dolphin Early Release Done!

So it happened again.  Just like with the elephant, I went into this design thinking it would be a simple flexi. 

But as I was looking at reference pictures of playful dolphins, I thought it would be really fun to make it sit up as if it was breaching the water.

The great thing is that the curl came together pretty quickly and I am very happy with the pose. 

It also opens the door for some fun additions I can make down the line, like a stand that looks like a...

Flexi Squirrel Variation plus Update

Hey There,

After playing with the squirrel for a bit I felt that as a fidget toy the tail was a little too long. So I made an alternate short tail version. Just note that the short tail doesn't curl up.

Also, I noticed that due to a crappy optimization tool I used, the last update had a slight bumpy head disorder. Version _04 fixes this.

I modified the link to make it stronger and hang in the proper direction to face outward when it's in the key loop.

Update: Final Squirrel (I hope)

I just got done creating a big-ole-squirrel on my CR-10 and noticed that the tail just didn't have enough subdivisions to print big. This fixes that.

All of the leg fixes are also in this version.

Flexi Squirrel (Update #2)

Hi there,

So it definitely bothered me that some of you were still getting broken front legs.  So I studied the hell out of it, intentionally broke a few legs myself, and made more adjustments.

I can't promise there will be no more amputee squirrels, but there should be a lot less.

Also please note that if the legs are really stuck to the build plate and you need to pop them  off, I think it's best to knock them towards the body so they don't hyper extend and snap....

I got a great suggestion to give out the Tails so they can be used for key chains.  I'm super excited to see what other creative uses you guys come up with.

Frog Prince and Princess Update

Small updates on the Frog Prince and Princess.

*Eyes are a little more defined.

* Reoriented the balls on the crown to minimizes filament sagging from too much overhang...pesky gravity!

Inspiration for my next model

I usually like to create totally original models, but once in a while I like to pay homage to the greats.  My inspiration for my next Flexi comes from the one and only Chuck Jones. Although this squirrel is fairly simple, I love how you can feel his personality even when he's not moving.

Update + XL Elephant

Hi there,

Here are the updates.

*Reduced ear fail.  A couple people reached out to me about the ear popping off while printing, so I increased the surface area of the ear to the build plate, and smoothed over some edges that might curl and catch an edge. 

*Updated the Star on headpiece.  A patron brought it to my attention that the stitching detail around the Star was too thin and didn't print right. I totally agreed and gave ...

Flexi Factory Elephant #ffearlyrelease

I didn't go into it thinking this would be a circus elephant. In fact, after finishing the Dragon I thought it would be nice to make a cute, but much simpler model.

Of course it had to stand up...that's a given. But after looking at pictures of Dumbo, I thought it would be great if it could sit (gently squeeze the front legs together to accomplish this).

Then after a few test prints the happy accident occurred. I noticed when standing, it was actually perfectly balanced on two fee...
