We've both had smooth sailing since the last update. DZ is ahead of pace. I'm about where I expected. I created several new background graphics for references, and custom attribution/source motion graphics to keep things consistent across our editing workflow and reduce some of the work load.

AOTC: An Extremely Brief Update #4 | 13 Mar 2024

We hit the studio yesterday and tried to avoid fricking the audio up in the same way we did last time. So far, so good. Editing is about a day behind schedule due to repairing audio, retooling and getting some new motion graphics finished up. We should have Part 2 out for our paying members within the next 30 hours, if all goes to plan.

We're full steam ahead with editing Part 2, and already past the halfway point with writing Part 3. We _were_ a tad behind where we'd like to be with the editing of Part 2 due to audio issues, but we've mitigated that and are back to normal. Losing most of a 15 hour day to technical issues is never fun, though!

We are well and truly in the trenches now. The AOTC analysis is in the works! We're keeping our workflow the same as with the TPM analysis.

Delay on The Phantom Menace compilation

After six weeks of assembling the 12 hour conclusion to the TPM compilation, and despite all of the effort we put in to make sure there were a lot less probable copyright hotspots, we still got a detection on the final version.

Resolving a copyright detection in a video this large (214 GB) and this long (12 Hours) is a complex affair. Re-rendering the entire video could take 3-4 days, so we generally render larger videos in numerous smaller chunks and then join them using a script we ...

Thoughts on the Quarren, RE: P5 of TPM Retrospective

Given that there should be none at this time, how can we make sense of there being Quarren? An isolated colony has to be one of the most elegant options. Let's work through it and see what's implied.

I don't have exact years mentioned for the Mon Cal timeline. For first contact with the Empire, that is definitely before the first movie: Ackbar interacts with Tarkin. They could have met each other as early as 10 BBY, or as late as a few months in 0 BBY. That does give us a little wiggle ...

Copyright Copes Wrong

The compilation was completed over 48 hours ago. We are on the fourth attempt of modifying, re-rendering and reuploading it due to copyright detections. These aren't the type of detections that just steal your money, mind you. They are the type that block your content worldwide.

When we dispatch our ragtag group of bounty hunters, disintegrations will be on the table.
