Exploring the SCP Foundation: SCP-8935: Tokophobia: The Virgin Birth

Funnily enough, I actually introduced kaktus a few months ago to the podcast Old Gods of Appalachia, cause I wanted to work together on a project similar to that. I asked him if this article was inspired by it, and he said absolutely, and in hindsight, it wasn't even subtle.

This week I'll be looking at 8935. This poll will determine the video for the 16th.

Exploring the SCP Foundation: SCP-7600 - Six Feet Under - Part Two

A climactic conclusion indeed. I'm not sure how many people would've predicted how that went down.

So obviously, I'll be putting out the second part of 7600 this week. I also had an idea to put out like a 10 hour compilation video called like, 10 Hours of Exploring SCPs, consisting of mostly my collection videos like Bear SCPs. I think the algorithm likes some stuff like that nowadays and it might help to bring in some new viewers.

Exploring the SCP Foundation: SCP-7600 - Six Feet Under - Part One

Certainly been a little bit since we had a two parter, as well as a nice epic one involving SCP-1000 and the Fae.

With a sweeping majority, I guess I'll be covering SCP-7600 this week. This poll will determine the video for the 2nd of December, unless 7600 extends to two parts.

Exploring the SCP Foundation: SCP-8066: Phobophobia: The Only Thing to Fear

All I can say is that it's really a big relief that I didn't do another 31 day marathon for this anthology, as this is way easier.

Rolling right into all of the recent anthology articles, starting with SCP-8066. This poll will determine the video for the 25th of November. The latest entry in the Redtape series, the bone proposal, should be around the corner as well,

Exploring the SCP Foundation: Bear SCPs

I initially had a thought of doing a running counter of how many times I said "bear", but then I got lazy and forgot about it.

It's been a while, but there's plenty of SCP to cover, including the recent anthology series. This week I'll be working on Bear SCPs, but this poll will determine the video for the 18th.

The Thing on the Doorstep by H.P. Lovecraft (Audiobook)

And that wraps up October 2024. There won't be a video next week, but then we'll get right back to SCP with Bear SCPs.

Exploring Horror Movies: Hell House LLC

This will be the last horror movie summary, at least for a while. I enjoyed making them, despite some of the hiccups, but it's clear that horror scp fans do not altogether equal horror movie fans, or perhaps they just like watching them themselves. I can't blame them for that.

Exploring Horror Movies: Dog Soldiers

Funny how long this one ended up being, although it is a bit longer of a movie. I've seen Dog Soldiers dozens of times now and it's easily in my top 5, so I think I just wanted to include as much of it as possible.

The Return of the Living Dead (Horror Movie Summary)

My favorite horror-comedy and potentially the best zombie movie ever made. I decided to go ahead and try some video clips again, all limited to around 5 seconds. If this one also gets blocked, then I guess its images only going forward.

Session 9 (Horror Movie Summary)

For October, I want to stick to a bit more conventional horror stuff, and while Session 9 definitely has some psychological elements, it hits all the notes for me. I was originally thinking of doing The Tunnel next week, from 2011, but I might instead throw it back to the 80s with The Return of the Living Dead.

Exploring the SCP Foundation: SCP-8060 - Toontown

The original idea was to have a whole bunch of background images from various cartoons, but that proved to be really difficult to find for a lot of them, so I just ended up with Arthur, Hey Arnold, and Batman the Animated Series. Also, yeah, AI image for the thumbnail, but that seems to work here I think.

Pontypool (Horror Movie Summary)

This is another one that is pretty minimal in so far as the visual aspect, being more of an audio drama put to film, but damn if I don't love Pontypool.

Slight Change of Plans

So, hit a bit of burnout while working on SCP-8060 and the next horror summary this week, as 8060 will definitely be over an hour long. I could break it into two parts, but I'd rather just delay it a week. That will bump Bear SCPs back a bit, but it will still be the next SCP video I do. I'm still planning on releasing the horror video next week.

Next Two SCP Foundation Videos

Alright, so I'll be working on Toontown this week, and Bear SCPs the following week, as well as another horror summary to be released next week. That leads us into October, where I'll release 4 more horror summaries, and possibly another Lovecraft reading on the 31st if I have time.

Exploring the SCP Foundation: SCP-1929 - Discoherence

Lighter on images for this one. I couldn't really find much that matched what I was looking for outside of actual pictures from the dust bowl.

Lake Mungo (Horror Movie Summary)

So, with Lake Mungo being very much a mockumentary with not a whole lot of footage in it that's not people talking to the camera, I decided to try something slightly different and use mostly video clips instead of still images. My initial edit was highly optimistic on my part, and was of course copyright blocked, so it took three more subsequent edits and uploads before I got to this version.

In the future, that's not really going to be worth all the hassle, so you won't see too...

Heading to the dust bowl this week with SCP-1929, and I'll also be releasing my horror summary on Lake Mungo. This poll will determine the video for the 23rd, and then the other choice will be for the 30th, clearing out the poll. Since I'll just be doing horror summaries for October, that means we won't have any polls until November.

Exploring the SCP Foundation: SCP-6634 - Where the Flood Couldn't Reach

Yes, I also wish this one was longer, but I'm pretty certain that I didn't miss out on anything.

View Post

Next SCP Foundation Video

SCP-6634 should be a pretty fun one to put together, with a very unique format. This poll will determine the video for the 16th. This is also probably a good time to announce my plan for October, which will just involve my horror movie summaries. October is very much horror movie month for me personally, so it just seems like a good time to really put that project forward. It's a bit of a risky move for sure, with no SCP for a month, but I'm feeling confident about it.

Incantation (Horror Movie Summary)

No age restrictions of any kind, woo!

This is one of those movies where I feel kind of bad for everyone involved. Except Yuan, screw that guy.

I think, going forward with these videos, I'm going to have a continual debate with myself about how much to show in the video when it comes to the actual scary or tense scenes. I know that a lot of people that are going to be interested in watching these videos are not interested in watching horror movies themselves, so I do...

It's been a while since I've covered a 001 I think. This poll will determine the video for the 9th of September. We are also caught in that rut again where people only mostly vote on the latest addition, so let's force some other options. I'll also be posting the next horror summary video soon.
