Summer is killing me dead. I think I'd enjoy summer more if I liked the beach/pool, but I don't. To me this is plain torture, especially yesterday with 40º.

On a happier note (I guess?), it's my birthday next Wednesday! Family is coming over, so I'll take some days off to just chill. That means next pages will be just a bit mor...

And he's back safe and sound! (^v^) Ethan is not there (yet) to welcome him, and Ragnar's just not a party person. In the list of "scenes in my head I will never draw" Skye went by Ragnar's office before going to his post at the entrance and they had their soft "I missed you, friend" moment <3 His reunion with Ethan is something you will indeed see, of course.

Next chapter is the end of season 1 and the end of the original story I wrote back in 2012. Everything that happens after that is new stuff I came up with in 2021.

I don't think I'm going to separate WBFH into two seasons though, because I *think* season 2 would be shorter than season 1? I still need to write it down, and since there's gonna be a paperback edition I need to be careful with length. So next chapter, which would originally be the epilog...

Next update will be the end of chapter 10. It might look like Owen gets to live so that he can come back as the antagonist, but it's not the case. This is for real the last time you see Owen (unless there's some flashback) because he leaves for good. He has a death sentence in that forest, and even if he returned with a new rifle, his cottage would be gone by then (Ragnar means it when he says he'll burn it). Ethan thought Skye and Ragnar were together because Skye kissed Ragnar's forehead every morning. This is the first time it happened. It's Skye's way to show appreciation for friends, he doesn't mean it in a romantic way. I love experimenting with different color styles on flashbacks <3 Fun fact: the color style I'm using on this flashback is actually what I originally wanted to do to color this whole series (flat, bright colors with tons of pink), but I failed to find the style and ended up going for something different. It was kinda painful to write Yule's thoughts. Wanting something as basic as a normal happy life and thinking that wasn't meant for him after all... If Skye knew he's having those thoughts he'd get up and hug him like the world's ending.
