Watercolours for comics

With an issue of Nightshade and VeganCaveGirl sold together that's another two paintings to do, but this is the first time I've painted a black babe... I've done SHITLOADS of coloured characters in the past with pens and digital colours.... But painting this is my first time. I picked what I thought was a good skin tone and it dried totally wrong so thankfully I managed to paint over it with a better skin tone allowing the below tone to act like sub-shading.

Inking xmen skechcover

This one's a little bugger. In some places it's glossy and not in others. So my ink works fine in the none glossy patches and then its like drawing with washing up liquid when you hit a glossy spot. So I have to keep drawing small parts, let them dry, touch them up, let them dry, next part and so on. If I switch to a different brand of pen you will see the difference in the art

Printing comics is hard!!!

I've been doing so much work for others my brain really needed to chill out today so after hoovering the whole cottage and cooking some food I tried to print out my own comic on my printer.... Fuck me it's hard. Getting stuff to line up right and come out the right way. Six pages of hard drawn comic plus a cover and back cover so eight pages only use 2 sheets of paper. It's a mind fuck. Getting stuff done

Okay yesterday I drew a Patreon reward comic, im wording g the Patreon comic for this month and I WILL get Patreon rewards done, but I also spent over four hours sat on the floor parcelling up issues of vegan cavegirl comics and Patreon reward sketchcover comics so I can mail them. I know my patreons - you guys are the best ever and most paitent because I always give people what I owe them, but because I tell the truth you know what I'm up to lol and why shit takes me so long. I'm getting there....

Batdad... Watercolour!!!

So this is something I tried while watching agents of shield tonight. A freind of mine does insane watercolour art of wolverine and domino, batman etc. So I got a SketchCard blank (size of a trading card) and lightly pencilled batdad, no inks. And then started painting with my watercolours. I'm still learning and developing but I NEVER thought I would ever paint let alone do it ink free. I'm really happy with what came out so far of my experiment.

Inside VCG comics

Now I'm doing sketchs inside the signed VeganCaveGirl comics, it slows me up but I know people are excited to get a sketch and it makes their comic extra cool. I didn't know the printer was going to use a slightly glossy paper stock so I have to draw them with Sharpie. NO PENCIL, just straight with the ink which if draw you know is tricky.
