First, I wanted to say thank you to everyone who sent me feedback (or just "research materials"). It really helped me to refine the next patch. Since then, I've been doing a lot of thinking and experimenting, and I think I have a final design for how the new content will work. When I came back from my break and looked at the game with fresh eyes, the characters really stuck out, and not in a good way. It's long past time they got some serious work.
With that in mind, I built a new makeup and tattoo system with a few different styles to choose from. Like the clothing system, this will be usable from the inspection screen, the rules assistant, and the scripting engine.

Holidays are over, which means development is back into full swing. Over the last few days, I completely rewrote the face generator, and I think it's finally ready to show off (along with one of the new hairstyles that will be in the next update).
The new algorithm works by combining a library of hand-sculpted faces into new ones. It still has a decent amount of variety, but not nearly as many duds.

The Juvie Corporation makes its money by keeping captives alive until they're old enough to sell. They don't do any significant training, but make up for the low quality with colossal volume. And now their showroom isn't just your suite.

Hey all,
At long last, here's 0.19 Alpha. This one focuses on the new clothing system, and has a lot of changes under the hood to accommodate that. It also has some bugfixes and new environments.
This is a lot more "alpha" than the usual alphas. Expect some pretty serious bugs. I've made some changes to the core architecture for both the environments and clothing, and decided to put this out a little earlier than usual so I can get feedback from more computers.

I'm still working hard on environments, and just finished the Raiders' Union slave market. The description and soundscape will be changing a bit to match the new aesthetic as well.
The Raiders' Union is a place where opportunistic pirates from around the galaxy can come and sell their acquisitions. This is the most varied of the markets, though most will be recent captures and not used to their lives as slaves.

While the game lets you commit some serious crimes against humanity, you can't yet commit any against fashion. I decided to fix that. The next update will add around 20 new outfits for slaves, and let you mix and match any of the (roughly) 60 available components of those outfits in any way you see fit. 0.18 is finally ready! It mostly fixes bugs (so many bugs), but also improves the slaves generation and display. Long story short, they should be much prettier now.
Before the download links, I have a request for the community: 0.18 adds an "Export" button on the slave inspection screen, which saves the slave to a file in in the game directory. If you send me your favorites, I can start to make a template library, which will make slaves look even better.

On top of the new long-form "date" events, faction leaders are getting their own unique environments. Hopefully, that will help to bring some color to their personalities.

0.17b is likely going to be released to diplomats and above tomorrow, barring any significant issues.
I've added docks to the military base so you can easily distinguish between "Available," "Repairing," and "Travelling." Ships will be appropriately missing from their docks when in transit (repair will look the same for now).
The new freely-rotating camera from 0.17a (which will be released to brothel owners tomorrow) also allows for some much better beauty shots of the station.

Here's a sneak peek at the new Pillar. You can zoom your camera directly into the hole, and build out rooms using the wrench icons at the doors below,
Note that it cuts through the middle of the station. Anything that you have already built in that space will be automatically demolished and refunded when you load a game from a previous version.
