Fire-breathing dragons prefer arid and tropical climates, at least during the winter months. While they can withstand an incredible range of high temperatures, they are vulnerable to freezing weather. They can learn to tolerate a certain amount of cold with exposure, but most don't bother with the inconvenience.

One of the babies at the hatching grounds wasn't claimed by her biological parents for unknown reasons, but Caldera's heart melted when she saw her and she promptly adopted the little one.
Dragons who already have young often enlist their help when taking care of newly hatched babies, since smaller dragons have a much easier time handling them safely. Watching over eggs is just part of the glamorous life of a Dragon Lord. Torch never enjoyed this part of his job. Trapping the heat of the underground lava lake underneath his body, while simultaneously making predators think twice about trying to snatch an egg, was pretty dull... until now. One egg is making hatching season a lot more exciting for the old dragon.

Something different.
Back when everyone was posting "rehydrated Ganondorf" pics I noticed how many of them didn't really look like Ganondorf, but just a hot tan guy instead. It felt more like I was looking at a swole boy band member than the king of evil. This is my first attempt at drawing him, but I'm happy enough with how he came out.

A big guy like Torch needs a big meal to satisfy him. Of course gems are nice, but sometimes a dragon's gotta have something else. I'm sure neither the eel nor the roc will be missed.

Torch likes to scout the ocean for sunken ships so he can salvage and restore them. He has quite the collection already and now that he is retired he has plenty of time to pursue his hobby. He spends many afternoons repairing all sorts of vessels with Sparky, his pet slingtail, by his side.
Ember has chosen an inopportune time to visit her father, because he found a well-preserved beauty of a vessel. Now she'll have to listen to him go on and on about boat facts.

These dragons know that if you want a marriage to stay healthy, you have to keep the fire lit.
Because of the way MLP utilizes shade, a slight gradient was the most I could do to Blaze without making her look like a villain. It’ll have to do.
