Outside of a shrine I came across this man hand painting a sign with dates for next year. An event calendar I suspect. Japanese learners may notice there is also no kana on this sign at all, pretty cool!

Over the weekend I went up to Mt. Mitake with some other dudes that make Youtube videos in Japan. There were also some dudes there with "real" video production under their belt as well, it was a wonderful way to connect with people that feel a bit like co-workers I have never met before. Wes Anderson is one of our absolute favorite directors as he can even make something as silly as an advertizement whimsical and distinct. He recently made a cute commercial for H&M and I noticed they had it playing on the huge screens above Shibuya crossing this week.

It's been a little wonky this year regarding weather in Tokyo. One day is warm, the next it's cold. We had a light snow in November?! The trees usually decide to change colors all at once, but it's been clearly confusing for them. Looking pretty good today in Ueno Park though!

Haha, sometimes I still come across things that surprise me in Japan. Earlier in the set they were straight up singing songs about praising Jesus, but it's not a church group, it's a music school. How did this subculture of America make it here? The world is amazing.The slightly off English pronunciation was killing me. They were doing good, but it was *not* old black lady in Louisiana good. hahahaha.
