Update - 20.6.23

A sketchy first update of the Cat/Vi piece!

After a lot (A LOT) of false starts and a bunch of iterations, I'm finally happy with the way this seems to be going! Wasn't going to have much in terms of a background but the perspective I ended up using really lent itself to a little bit of scenery, letting me explore a fun little bit of exhibitionism 🥵

Tulio/Chel/Miguel - Process + Closeups

A much bigger project than I first anticipated but I'm so so happy with how it came out. Felt like I had hit a few walls with this mid way through with the lighting and the colouring but I eventually got over the obstacles and powered through!

The large long format timelapse is too big to upload to Patreon (It's like 40 minutes long 🥲) so I feel like it's a good time to ask you lovelies if you prefer the long format timelapses or the condensed 1 minute versions that I used to do. Ple...

Jokes aside, really happy with the progress of this one so far, especially proud of the way Miguel and Chel look, really think I've manages to capture the two in my own style :)

Also started on the Cat/Vi piece, but that's WAY too early days to show anything yet 😅

Z3lda/Ganon - Process + Closeups

I FORGOT TO START THE TIMELAPSE UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE 🥲 I had already finished the face by the time I realised that I hadn't pressed record... lol

Really happy with the end result of this one, trying out a new brush has really helped me ditch this feeling of a slump that I've been in. I feel like it works a lot better with the rendering style I'm developing (gotta thank my partner for that one, she really helped me realise what I needed to do to achieve my goals 🥰...

Nearly done with the lines and I've been absolutely loving this new brush I've been working with. Still learning the ropes with how to handle it, there's a lot more shifting of the canvas to get my desired line widths. But man, the effect and softness of it has been really gelling with me 🥰 

Thanks for your patience with me on this one, any major style or tool change will always lead to temporary deceleration in output 🫡

Bit of a sketchy and rough update and I salute whoever can decipher my scribblings 🫡 but I wanted to be sure to give you lovelies an update to enjoy before the weekend!

It's been a while!

Lestat/Louis - process + closeups

This one took quite a bit of touching up and post-processing to get to where I was happy with, something I'd like to avoid in the future by learning proper colour theory etc. but despite that very happy with how it has turned out in the end!

From the very start, I was super excited to get some sub-surface scattering done on the hands, and I'm so pleased with the way it looks 🥰

Lestat/Louis - Mind the Teeth

Flats are down, just some fine tuning of colours and then onto the rendering! Excited to try out a slightly adjusted approach to this one. Retrospectively not 100% with the final look of the last piece so this time I'm hoping to learn from that 😚

Also been roughing down some ideas that have been bouncing around my head, like an Arthur/John (RD2) idea spawned from a twitter post that I saw 😅 These ideas will prob appear in the next poll!

Been having fun with the details again on this one... been so long since I've drawn clothes that it feels like a foreign concept. Despite that, this week has felt like a bit of a struggle, having to battle out every line 😭 Hopefully the weekend reset will help me regain that focus for next week!

Roy/Riza

Sorry about the absolute behemoth of a timelapse file... this piece was a bit of a monster in file size 😅

Felt like I've been working on it for absolutley ages, but I'm really happy with the result... felt like I've been in a bit of a slump lately. Really happy with the way the rendering of the two look, definitely going to be refining down this route in the future!

Roy/Riza - Burning the Midnight Oil

Really wanted to post this one last night as a birthday present from me to you lovelies, but my laptop was being a garbo man so it kinda halted progress 🥲

Really happy with the end result, thank you all for your patience with me on this one, can't wait to draw more Royai 🥰

🤏 close to being done with the Royai piece and it's been a lot of work but so far I think it's been totally worth it! Still figuring out my rendering style, trying to sus out what's not too much and doesn't detract from the original lineart :)

Also started roughing out the Louis/Lestat piece. It's gonna be another high detail one with lots of frills and maybe a fang snagging lightly on some skin 😳

Thanks lovelies for your patience with me on this one, I really wanna just go all out on everything to make up for the slump I've felt over the last few weeks. Thankfully this piece and the idea I have for the next one have dispelled it :D

Rowan - Process

Really interesting character to explore and bring to life. First time attempting to draw someone's OC that didn't have pre-existing art of, so that was a bit of a challenge but it was so fun!

Gotta say, so far I'm beyond proud with how the Royai piece is coming... they look SO IN LOVE! I do feel like this will be a slow one, lots of clothing details I wanna get in, but it's gonna be fun!

Hoping to have the YCH piece done by the end of this week, she's been such an interesting character to explore so far, thanks for letting me draw her Onahill 😊
