Dawn of Womanhood - Process

1. In Clip Studio, I draw rough thumbnail to get the basic concept down.

2. Rough sketch. I make a more formal sketch to work out the layout, pose, and proportions. I start getting some of the details roughed out. I used the Dawn picture to make sure I had the exact same scale as before.

3. Final sketch. Now I go back and do a more detailed sketch, working out the the bodies, clothing, and hair. Like last time, I put a lot of care into find poses that let me show off enough frilly...

Week One - Process

1. In Clip Studio, I draw rough thumbnail to get the basic concept down.

2. Rough sketch. I make a more formal sketch to work out the layout, pose, and proportions. I start getting some of the details roughed out. I decided this would be more dramatic with a high-angle perspective.

3. Perspective study. The perspective is tricky on this one so I scaled down the rough sketch so I could line up the vanishing point properly to help me finalize the basic body shapes in proper perspect...

For the Candy - Process

Crash and Return

I was offline for a couple of days due to a primary hard drive failure. I had to get a new drive and spend a couple of days restoring everything. Fortunately, I backed up most of my data but I'm still having to rebuild a lot of my textures and brushes from my original work files as well as rebuilding my reference material organization. So I'm a little behind but I've now gotten things restored enough that I can start working again. Phew!
