r[E]volution Chapter 8 Finale (p. 18-23)

I was re-writing Church's dialogue in page 18 right up until the last minute. I made an oops drawing one of the panels, because for some reason I was confusing this dream sequence with one from chapter six. Suddenly his expression didn't match what he was saying, so instead of fixing the art I decided to fix his line (and still phrase it as a question! It was like playing Jeopardy.)

The new line kinda worked better, anyway, so that's serendipity for ya.

If you want to talk about technical difficulties, this update was... well, this was it. Probably would've been finished three days ago if I hadn't been beating my head against the wall trying to build the background in Blender (it worked...? Kinda. Screw youuuuuu, z-transparent billboards.)

I don't like to toot my own horn all the time, but I'll say I'm pretty pleased with how far the artwork's come since this comic began. Heck, it's changed a lot since chapter four, even.

The writing, on the other hand... uh. Well, uh, hopefully somebody besides me is laughin'.

I've spent this week getting the next comic update ready, so I'll share the artwork for page 4 with you guys. (Guess who discovered multiple foliage brushes? Yeah, shut up.)

Dyscalculia Render 073016

One of my first finished renders for part one of Dyscalculia! I learned a crazy trick for compositing shadows while I was at it.
