Tortle: Dodge vs. Shell Defense

Play around with this calculator to see how the Tortle's defenses fare against different attacks. In a melee situation, Dodge is always better than Shell Defense. In fact, at certain armor classes, Shell Defense is worse against melee than just doing nothing. Where Shell Defense really shines is against ranged attacks.
