Overclocking on a Huananzhi X99... Is is a brick now?

'Just modify the BIOS for All-Core Turbo' they said... 'This board is great for overclocking' they said... And for 20 minutes, all I had was a brick. Welcome to Adventures in Overclocking on Chinese X99!

But first... What am I drinking???

At least the beer was amazing! Loowit Brewing's Holy D'hiver, a Belgian Winter Strong Ale with vanilla and cardamom. In the words of Roger the Alien... OMG, what is this and how can I replace my blood with it???

Thanks...

How do you keep servers cool without building a dedicated cold room? You cool the rack! Today, I'll be installing the Tripp Lite SRCOOL7KRM into my home server rack, and pushing all of the heat generated by the rack out of the house. Why cool down my 900 SQFT, uninsulated garage when I can coo...

Today, I walk through a simple solution to organizing your server rack or home lab using Keystone Patch Panels and Keystone Jacks!

Air Conditioned Server Rack, Pt.1

For those who asked how my server rack possibly stayed cool in my garage.... it doesn't. And I happen to be running out of space in my 4-post 27U home server rack. Today, we're solving the space issue, and preparing to install air conditioning INTO my rack!

But first... What am I drinking???

Clausthaler non-alcoholic beer. Water, barley malt, and hops, and I've got to say, it has no business being as good as it is. Dry-hopped with Cascade hops, this is the IPA to have when you'r...

Hopworks Urban Brewery (HUB) Juicy Bear IPA. A 6.5% brew that is everything it says... Juicy, IPA, although distinctly lacking in bear.

TrueNAS Migration Tutorial

Moving your data can be tricky. Luckily, FreeNAS and TrueNAS have tools that make migrating your datasets simple. In this video, I'll be using replication to transfer files from one server to another.

But first... What am I drinking???

Kansas Territory Brewing Summer Breeze. It's a Lemon Shandy, and probably the first beer from this brewery I've enjoyed. A little bit of grapefruit up front, some lemon zing, and then just a touch of malty-sweetness to finish it off. Defi...

IT'S WORKING! Cloud Gaming Server Benchmarked!

It's working, and yet I'm still disappointed... It's the conclusion of the Cloud Gaming Server for nVidia GRID and Tesla cards!

But first... What am I drinking???

Tasty from 21st Amendment Brewing (San Leandro, CA), a 6.8% IPA. Honestly, I've got nothing good to say, but I've also got nothing bad to say. It's a solid IPA (you might even call it Tasty), but there's nothing memorable about it. Nothing in the flavor stands out, but it's exactly what it says it is... a good...

Trickle Up Economics from Three Magnets Brewing (Olympia, WA). This is a hazy-man's Hazy IPA. To me, it had some really nice tropical notes, but was completely unbalanced, with the acid taste completely overriding anything nice in this beer. (6.5%)

No one:

Sound Cards in 2020: Exist

But should you buy the SoundBlaster X3?

But first... What am I drinking???

Another local Oregon brew from Level Beer (Portland), it's 'I'm not a HAZY, I just crush a lot', a self-proclaimed Old School IPA. Much more floral than hoppy, and is definitely a throwback to IPAs from the early turn of the century. VERY good on a hot day. (5.8%)

Much like the switch/server, the beer also features a Dynamic Duo (Ex Novo Brewing, Portland, OR). The sought to keep it simple with a blend of Citra and Chinook hops in a clean and crisp IPA. Lots of orange and citrus notes pair perfectly with the balanced hop combo. 7.6% IIPA
