On to 2022

Hi, hope you had a nice christmas, if you celebrate it.

If it isn't obvious already, my last estimate on the release date was pretty optimistic. But what's more is that I ended up making a change to the project, one that's causing me quite a bit of extra work.

My original intention was to do the "intimacy mode" scenes in a similar way to the scene that's already in the game, just in such a way that I could use the same animation for several different characters. But once I realize...

Progress

Well, the month's coming to an end and quite a bit of progress has been made. Not quite as much as I'd have liked (a new game release at the start of the month took it's toll), but still.

All the new gameplay elements are now finished - dungeon generator and new dungeon mechanics, as well as new enemies. Just some visual effects and balance adjustments need to be done on that front. The new par...

Progress

Well, things have been moving along and the gameplay side of the next update is close to completion - in the screenshot above you can see the dungeon generator in action. Some work still needs to be done before the dungeon can be played and finished as intended, but it's mostly minor stuff.

Audio, art and writing have all been worked on as well, but there's some things still to do on each front...

What's next?

Well, with the first demo finally released it's time for me to set my sights on the first update to it. Here's the tl;dr version of what to expect from the next few updates:

Release 2 (demo part 2):

• new party member, a sheep bard called Wonder 
• the rest of the intro "cutscene". The amount of text will ~double. I've got most of this written already.

BEFORE PLEDGING TO GET EARLY ACCESS:

Please be aware that the next release (release 2) will be a continuation of the demo, and will be available publicly. Only from release 3 onwards will patrons ($5 tier and up) have early access to builds.

I want to provide nice rewards for supporters but first I need to get a proper demo out there, one that gives an accurate picture on what gameplay will be like - something that the first demo doesn't really do.
