Page Layout...

...is a big challenge for me, but here it is, the second step in designing a comic.  This is a four page comic (plus a one page bonus comic) and is part of the Black Label Q&A series I've been doing.  This time, Meg is answering a question and winds up going into an important part of her back story.

I know, I have plenty of other stuff to work on, but when an idea comes to you, ya gotta strike while the iron is hot!

Finishing touch...

...for the strike a pose comic.  Pretty happy with the final product. :)  Will most likely post this on DevArt sometime this month.

Commission Progress...

...that I'm waaaay behind schedule on.  Got a bit distracted with business stuff and a bunch of BLACK LABEL ideas.  Been doing a lot of writing lately.  Lots to look forward to!

Bookmark design...

...for some upcoming conventions.  I think it will also be a nice image to balance the last four panel comic page I did.

Tried to do it entirely in digital but it's taking way more time than I'm comfortable with.  Will pencil it out tomorrow.

Quick update...

...for the coming week. I want to finish my taxes this week (I'm a business owner so it takes me longer than most) but I'm still planning to get a few this posted this week including: -tracer/mercy commission with background -some mercy designs for this years conventions -the last panel for the current Amazon page Hopefully will have some other goodies along the way, but taxes will be priority one.

Amazon page update...

...that took way longer than I care to admit.  I'm basically drawing this comic one panel at a time, as apposed to one page at a time.  Still, progress!

I need to take a few days for work stuff (taxes) that I hope to have finished before the month is over.  Going to try and keep posting stuff over the weekend.

I find it very difficult to break out of boxes.  I tend to think of things in snapshots, like in a movie.  I'd love to do more grand, flowing pages that break out of the usual box panel sequences, but man...that is an artform all it's own.  Got a few simple idea to free things up a bit and you'll be seeing more of that soon...I hope. ^^;

...on another comic page.  Just needs an image to balance the page.  Not sure if I'm going to continue with the sketch or not.  Would rather have a full body or 3/4 shot.  We shall see.

I've discovered the secret...

...to drawing sex scenes...start at the end and work your way backwards!  Thought I had the next couple pages all figured out and the whole thing fell apart on me.  Fortunately, the problem is solved and I can get back to work.

Also, the computer is great for sketching out pages and panels, but for mapping out pages, I've still gotta do it on paper. ^^;

...I did today.  The first two are for a commission I'm currently working on.  Wanted to do a valentines day drawing but my schedule got out of control (as demonstrated by my lack of posts).  Anyhoo...

Tomorrow I'm going to start work on some Amazon stuff.  Next couple of pages should be fun!  And of course, a fancy dinner with my wife. :)
