Very excited for this week! I don’t have to leave town till Saturday (gonna be a crazy busy weekend) but it’s looking like I’ll actually have a lot of time to draw this week! Soooo…

Even though it's only two panels, I can't believe I got this one done today.  I'm on the road tomorrow, but will be back super early on Sunday.  Can't wait to get started on the next page!

Took a tad longer than I care to admit, but it came out great, although I think the design is a tad bit backwards.  I should have had the image funnel downward  to the final panel.  Ah, life.  I'll save it for the trade paperback. ^^;

Come to think of it...it is all digital now, so rearranging the panels shouldn't be a huge issue...

...production has been slow this week as I was gone for a day and a half, but things are finally moving along. I still have a ways to go but the line art should be done today. Hope to finish toning tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

A subtle difference...

...This is what I was talking about in a previous post.  It's a difference that you probably wouldn't have noticed (a sure sign that I was over thinking again), but I have since discovered that this will make a big difference when the book goes to print.

After this new page, I think I've got line brush issue sorted.  Clip Studio is a strange animal.

A little back story, there was a five page comic sequence I had planned called "Moving In" where Dean is helping Meg unpack at her new place.  While that is going on, Ellie calls Dean on his phone and asks a few questions about Meg.  Meg is of course there and eavesdrops a little.

…Hey everyone! Just a quick update this week as I gotta hit the road (surprise, surprise). I’ll be back tomorrow afternoon and I’m taking my sketchbook. :)

I love the Ghost in the Shell series in it's many incarnations, Stand Alone Complex being my favorite.  Didn't see the live action movie as it really takes a lot to get me to go to the theater these days. ^^;  I'll likely see it at some point though.

...The next page of Black Label will be up Monday!  Still trying to find that "sweet spot" with line thickness.  Looks great on the computer screen but risks disappearing when printed.  Still, progress! :)

...turned out I had some extra time today! i.e. my ride is late. Taking off now. Should be back late tonight, so here’s an update!

Really excited with the progress, but figuring out line density took all day. ^^;

Victory Girl is the creation of one of my favorite DevArt artists Jollyjack. I follow him here on Patreon. He has a hilarious webcomic called Sequential Art that I can’t recommend enough.

I think I’ll save this sketch for the next time Jollyjack releases an issue of Victory Girl. Can’t wait for the next chapter!

I'm kinda hot and cold about this page.  It doesn't progress the story as much as I'd like.  When I was laying everything out, I was thinking about how small the pages are (manga sized) so I needed to make the panels bigger, but I ended up sacrificing the pacin...

New Digital Print Suggestions...

Hey gang!

I'm working on designing some fan prints for conventions next year.  I've never been big on fan prints as I usually prefer to work on original content, however they are a great way to draw people to my table and get exposure for my books.

I'm very pleased with the Vampirella image so I want to make more color prints in the coming months.  These will be sexy pin-up style, not necessarily lewd (though I may do the occassional alt. ver. for Patreon and HF). ;)

Police Banner...

...just went up.  Came out a bit grainy, but it'll do for now.

I needed to replace my banner to make sure my account didn't get shut down.  Not that there had been any message or threat to that effect, but a lot of creators that I follow on line who do adult art have had their accounts temporarily suspended.  Sounds like a pain to me, so time to update.

Technically speaking, the page has a few issues.  Not enough that I'm going to redo it though.  The line art came out fine in my estimation.  I hope you think so too.

Weekly Update 08.06.18...

...it would be very easy to just call last week a wash, but it was actually quite productive!  I got Vampirella posted, got a handle of Clip Studio, and got a good chunk of the next page finished (100% digital!!!!). Unfortunately, I wound up getting called out of town for work a couple of times. Never needed to resort to a motel, thank goodness (my bed is far comfier), but travel wound up eating the majority of my time. If only I could drive and draw at the same time…fortunately, I can wo...

Surprise work travel...

...has slowed down production this week (also I spent a lot of time working on the Vampirella pic) but the next page is coming along. Fortunately my day job has not forced me to stay in any motel rooms this week (I love my bed) and I’ve still had time to experiment and practice with clip Studio. It’s saved me a lot of time thus far allowing me to make some changes to the page layout. Hope to have it up this weekend. I think it’s going to look great!

Patreon issue...

I know a few of you have had some Patreon issues in the past few days. Turns out Patreon moved from the US to the UK and this has caused a lot of issues, particularly monthly payments and subscriptions being cancelled or rejected. If you are having issues you might need to switch your payment method or alert your bank.

This was very fun to do and was great practice for digital drawing.  After I've done a few more pages of BLACK LABEL I plan to do another pin up.  Not sure who just yet, but I'm open to suggestions. ;)

...I think she's done. :)

I wish I had put in a bit more thought to composition.  This has always been a weakness for me when it comes to prints and something I need to bear in mind in the future.  Still, I'm very pleased with how she looks.

And 100% digital.  No pencil.  No Bristol Board.  That blows my mind.
