...for page 21 are done! Got home early and got a good bit of work done. Gonna see how happy I am with them tomorrow afternoon and I’ll get started on the hardlines! Have a couple super rough designs for page 22 as well.

Back in chapter 2 I had Meg going through a large cardboard box for her bondage gear. I’m updating that to a steamer trunk because that’s what Meg would have.

Weekly Update 10.14.2019...

…Whew…what a busy weekend. But I’m back and excited to draw!

If you’re living in Northern California then you know that we’ve been having rolling blackouts. We were lucky as we never actually lost power…just the internet. I tell ya, it was eye opening. You forget just how much we rely on the internet for stuff until you can’t access it for a few days. Chapter 3, Page 20...

...Just in time for the weekend!  I am of course, on the road all weekend, but I'll be back for Monday's weekly update.

I need to check my math, but I believe this is the 100th page of Black Label (not including the 40 or so pages of bonus content)!  Thank you guys so much for getting the comic this far!  We're halfway to the first trade paperback!

Good new!  The chapter 5 script is almost done!  Super excited!  Now I gotta figure out what happens in ...

Been going through pages and file folders looking for stuff to share on Instagram and Twitter. Found this one from earlier this year. Toned it up for warmup and it came out pretty good.

Power outages...

...for the next few days so I’ll have small windows of opportunity to post. The good news...The next page is all sketched and I’m gonna take tomorrow off to draw! :D

...everything is toned except panel 4 which needs to be redrawn. Always comes out stiff as a board. Will give it another go tomorrow. Should be able to get it done then. So excited to share it and get to the next page.

Panel 5 is going to be...difficult to censor. The speech bubble for that panel is rather small so...heh heh. ^^;

Weekly Update 10.07.2019...

…October has arrived! My Birthday is on Thursday, and you guys have already given me the best gift ever!

As advertised, October is one of the busiest times of the year (second only to Christmas). I am on the road every weekend for work, so I already knew production was going to slow down, but because of you guys I get to cut my work hours during the week so I can still work on the comic! This would have been impossible a year ago. Heck, it would have been impossible a few months ago! ...

Vampirella sketch...

...Home at last! been gone for a few days for work but I’m back home for the week. I’ll be on the road every weekend this month.

I did the Vampirella sketch a couple weeks ago but I can’t recall if I had posted it. I don’t have much else worth sharing just yet, but I wanted to post something.

Gonna sketch a little and do some toning for Black Label but aside from that I’m just gonna take it easy tonight. Weekly Update tomorrow (and maybe a new page).

Val's Punishment...

...or is it a reward?  Can't say.  Too soon to tell.  This was just a sketch that came together nicely and felt I had to finish.  Will likely save it for a future issue of BLACK LABEL.  Sam and Val are destined for one another after all...at least, I think they are.  Val has a way of surprising me.

Also did some experimenting with brushes for the lines.  Worked pretty good. :)

...today’s drawing session is off to a great start! Now let’s get the next BLACK LABEL page sketched out!

Did a lot of writing this morning...

...and I think I finished outlining Val’s story arc. I’m not going to say she has a tragic backstory (she doesn’t), but hers seems to be the most...trying to figure out the right word... visceral? I guess that works. Val continues to surprise me again and again. I originally put her in because she made me laugh. Now...I just wanna give this girl a hug.

Can’t wait to get to her story. A few nuggets will be popping up in chapter 4.

Weekly Update 09.30.2019…

…Autumn is officially here and it has me all over the map. ^^; Busy weekend and a busy week ahead, but I’m not complaining, cause I get to cut a bunch of hours so that I can draw! Thank you guys for that!

I just need to finish toning the next page and it will be done! Hoping it will be up today but most likely it will be tomorrow. My current warmup sketch is ready for lines as well, so that might be done this week too!

...just needs shading and dialogue bubbles! I’m out of town all day tomorrow but I’ll see if I can’t sneak some time to work on it in the evening. Perhaps a Sunday post!

...Feeling conflicted.  I know I can do better with this and the two previous pages.  They're fine, but they're far from what I originally imagined and I compromised a bit for the sake of time.  I plan to give them another go when I prep the comic for print (maybe it's just beyond my skill at this point) but I don't want to wait.

…Whew…last week man. Busy times, but productive as well. I may not have finished a page, but I got a lot done. Expect the next page this evening. A great way to start the week.
