Sooo...I'm sick (not covid). Been sick for a few days, although I didn't want to admit it (especially to myself). Whew...gonna be a busy week, but things are happening! I'm so excited, I'm trying not to jinx things! :D
If everything goes as planned, the crowdfunding campaign will be launching the first of next month! The June Mail Club teaser will go up later this week (the stickers and prints just arrived), and the next page of BLACK LABEL is well on its way and should be up by the weekend (I'm doing the detail sketches today)!

...Funny, story, this page actually didn't take that long to draw or tone! I spent most of the week trying to get the book 1 campaign lined up. Lots of little steps I hadn't expected, but I'll be pulling the trigger once the print shop confirms that they have the time and paper for the project (paper prices have gone up quite a bit).

Prints and Stickers are here and I'm going to be prepping the first mailing today and tomorrow. The first Mailing for May will go out on Monday, along with the final April Mailing.
Most of the next chapter is laid out and ready and I'm about halfway through the line art for the next page of Chapter 7. Should be up early next week!

Wow, so much is happening! Last week was spent getting pages reformatted, figuring out costs for printing, shipping and packaging, as well as going through several crowdfunding sites trying to figure out which one might work best for the book. I’m halfway through editing the book! Was originally planning to redraw a bunch of it, but I’ve decided to keep the original art, warts and all. I figure my work is improving quickly enough that I don’t need to drag out the first book anymore than necessary. Also found this great online checklist called Trello. Very useful tool! Really helps a lot!

I posted this way way back when I was working on Chapter 2. The scene worked well, but then I thought it would work better as an epilogue for book 1 since book two will be focusing more Val, Sam and other characters.

Spent last week working over the chapter 7 script, going back and making some edits for book 1, and getting some details for the book campaign sorted out. Should have some more information on that in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, I’m getting all the chapter 7 pages mapped out and plan to have the detailed sketch for the next page done by tonight (I’ll post a few teasers once it’s ready). There are also a few bonus comic...

Wow...the coming weeks are going to be crazy! Lots of new pages and art to look forward to, I've got bonus comics to work on, I'm getting the first book looked over, I need to figure out the cover design and a ton of other little things involved with book printing.

I’m getting used to the new X-Pen Display! The surface is much smoother than I used to and the pressure sensitivity is…maybe a tad too sensitive, but aside from that it works really well! Just a few things I need to get used to. Computer is also working well and holy crap, I have not needed to stop and wait for it to catch up even once! I now have to set an alarm to make sure I take regular breaks.

Been meaning to finish this one for a while. Feels good to be posting more than once a week again! Have more sketches to work on while I get used to the new system. Gonna draw a few more fun things next week as I give the script for chapter 7 one last polish. Also plan to do more thumbnailing for chapter 7 (something I've always been bad about. ^^; Hopefully that'll help save me some time.

...Today’s the big day! Starting a new page on my brand new X-Pen 22R Pro Tablet and Lenovo Legion Tower! Thank you all for making this purchase possible. Hopefully this will make my work flow faster and I won’t have to deal with constant cycling and such. As you can see, I used to have to work with my laptop taking up half the table while I used to iPad for scripting and reference. Also, everything can now be done on a single screen.
