Weekly Update 01.03.2023...

...Let the new year commence!

As advertised, I'll be doing a Weekly Update every week for the foreseeable future (although I'll be posting on Tuesday's instead of Monday's (my weekends are Sundays & Mondays).

Mail Club is on hold for a couple months, this is due to the mailing issues that I had with the November packs and the holiday holdup on the December packs.  The goal is to have everything shipped this week.  After that, I'll be focusing on the book campaign. A...

So the other night, we were watching a Youtube video by Clint's Reptiles about the care and feeding of Ball Pythons when we realized that Clint has what I can only describe as, 'a Muppet voice'.   After he made me laugh with a line about impulse purchasing a python, I decided that I had to draw him as a Muppet.  And there he is!

WIPs (Tentacle Warning!)

Wow, what a week!  Been enjoying my nice, clean and shiny office and the creative juices have been flowing like crazy!  I can't wait to see where it goes!  I can't get over how much drawing I did this week (this is just the good stuff).

Sorry I don't have a BLACK LABEL update, other than to say I found a new printer for the book! :D  So BLACK LABEL time will most likely be dedicated to getting the kickstarter going!

WIPs!

I tell ya, I had planned to finish a page of Black Label this week, but then I got this crazy idea for a short series of images involving tentacles and...  well, I just had to strike while the was hot!  Will likely keep working on it for a little while for at least a warm up.

I can still draw!

Whew...with all the craziness from the past few weeks, it is reassuring to know that I can still do this!  Not being able to properly put in my time and draw absolutely stresses me out and whenever I take any kind of break it always takes me a few days to get my edge back.  This page took some time, but with it comes the confidence I've been lacking.  Finally, I am feel like I'm back at it! :D

…sorry for the delay. What I thought was going to take a couple of days is taking two weeks as the plan changed from building the office to switching out the office and Mel’s bedroom, to putting everything back the way it was, to rearranging the apartment. The whole place is a disaster. It looks like we just moved in. Worst part is I can’t do any of the work myself because 90%of the stuff isn’t mine and I don’t know where any of it’s supposed to go. A quick update…

…while we get the new office assembled!

My brother in law left it in a real state, but I got the carpet and walls all clean after a few days of scrubbing. Smells much better now! The room is a bit of a clutter here but it’ll look much better once we get the bookcase for the other room. Goal is to have everhing fully operational next week! In the meantime I have mail club to prep! New stickers finally arrived and the prints come in today (allegedly).

Quick Update…

…My brother in law/toxic roommate is finally and officially gone! For real this time! They are off the lease, and their room is empty! Been taking the past few days to decompress as this past week has been a stressful hellscape. Going to get their room clean (they left it a smelly mess) and turned into an office/stockroom. Can’t wait to have some extra space, but mostly excited that the biggest stressor in our lives is finally gone. Will share a more detailed story of the saga soon ...

Internet has been in and out all week, so I'm posting both of these now while I can.  New page will likely be going up early next week while I figure out the router issue.  In the meantime, I'm quite pleased with these!  I have another sketch that I want to do in full color and that will likely go up next week as well.  Progress!

Birthday Update! 10.11.2022...

...Hello everyone!  I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

Yesterday was my birthday and we celebrated with a hike at some local botanical gardens we'd been told about.  The fall colors were coming in and it was beautiful!  I also received a very cool "Mysterious Package" that is basically a noir style detective mystery puzzle!  Haven't had a chance to look at it just yet, but I'm excited to check it out!

Weekly Update 10.04.2022…

…I’m back! Last week absolutely sucked. I was very fortunate that I only had one day when I was really sick (sore throats are the worst). The rest of the time I was either sleeping or moping about with no energy. Any kind of work was impossible and all I could do was lay there and watch my to-do list get longer and longer and longer. I’m still contagious but not sick so today I’m masking up and sitting at my desk. I’m moving slow and I’m sure I’ll be taking many breaks, bu...

Feeling better!

Still sick and contagious, but I have energy! I’m gonna be careful not to blow it all, but I’m gonna see if I can’t get some story boarding done. Whew…this has been a rough week. Next week should be business as usual and I can’t wait!

I’ve got Covid

I’m pretty sure I’m over the hump, but I’ve been useless for several days. Didn’t even realize I was sick (thought I was just tired from all the apartment drama). This is going to delay mail club…again. 😓 I don’t want to spread anything, so I’m going to repack everything and send them out with the October rewards. I’m very sorry for the delay.

WIP: Nightmare (?)

I'm working on the next 3 pages together and they're coming along great!  I'm hoping to have them all done next week! :D  I knew this panel would be a fun one, so I decided to do it in full color and at a higher resolution.  Still needs some touchups, but I'm quite pleased with it!  Could use some more rope though. ;)

The three pages has a nice bit of backstory, a few spicy panels and a surprise ending!  Can't wait to share!

Weekly (?) Update 09.21.2022...

...I'm Back!  Had a great weekend at the SPX Book Show and managed to get a day to drive out to DC to check out the Smithsonian Natural History Museum.  Didn't even get to see the whole thing, the place was so huge, and that was just one of the museums.  Can't wait to go back and see more!

It was a great trip but yikes, I thought Massachusetts drivers were bad, but they've got nothing on Jersey drivers. ^^;

We also hit a huge storm on the drive back that blew my min...

...Don't get used to the title, it's just a place holder.  Same goes for the character design.  Still not happy with his look.  Just doesn't feel right.  Still, this was a fun warm up to work on! :)

Quick Update...

...Just 2 things I wanted to let everyone know.  I'll be helping a friend at the SPX show in DC this weekend, and we'll be heading up there this Thursday, so no new page this week. :(  Hoping I can still get something posted (or mostly done, at least).  Also, I don't know what happened, but the Mail Club prints are now two weeks late arriving, so I'll be focusing on getting that cleared up.  Just wanted to let you all know what was up.  Chat soon!

WEEKLY WIPS! 09.10.2022

It's been a busy and productive week!  The second image has been in my head for a while now, and I finally took a crack at it this week.  I need to redraw it as I doesn't fit the page the way i need it to, but at least I know that it's within my abilities!  Proof of concept!  Gonna make a great cover!

Already started the next page of Black Label.  Gonna work on that today and hopefully have that posted early next week.  We shall see!
