Pin-up - 'Catch Of The Day'

Hello there,

I haven't posted one of these comparison pin-ups for a while. Trying to recreate a pose from an illustration is no easy task. In this case, my feet just don't bend that way in these heels. Also, I must confess to employing a little digital trickery in this one - I had to cut myself in half to improve my posture. Luckily my arm hides the join. Ssssh, don't tell anyone :)

Extra Bits - Background Design

I'm not sure how interesting this is, but I thought I'd show you a random selection of backgrounds that I've been working on for the last week or so. I usually shoot the photos first and then draw the backgrounds to match the poses, so it's a bit strange to see a Totty comic without Totty!

Sorry for the lack of interaction this week. I've had such a terrible migraine that I couldn't even look at a screen - I've been lying in a dark room for three days. Luckily I had a couple of posts already scheduled, but I haven't been able to respond to comments or messages and I've fallen a bit behind with my shooting schedule. 'Horseplay' - 100th Comic Strip!

They say that bicycles and horses are the most difficult things to draw and I would have to agree! I've already made a bicycle strip, (Bikery) so I thought it was high time for a horsey comic. They are rather tricky to capture, (especially round the ankles), but I had a lot of fun drawing this comic... even if my majestic mare looks more like a cow 🐎🐄

I bought a set of new LED lights recently and this was the first comic I shot using them. I usually try to light myself with minimal shadows - as flat and cartoony as possible, so that I fit better into the cartoon world. At first, I thought the new setup worked well, but as I started adding the photos to the backgrounds I noticed my skin had an odd yellowish tint which made me look like a sickly Minion.
