New Outfit - Land Of The Giants

Hello there!

I'm currently refreshing my wardrobe for the autumn. I'll be trying out several new outfits over the coming months and the inspiration for this particular look is Deanna Lund in Land Of The Giants - lots of tight sweaters and mini skirts... I love the 60s style!

'He Loves Me...'

Here's a strip I made a while ago - I've been reluctant to post it because I'm not quite sure if it fits with my other comics.

My original concept for 'A Bit Of Totty' was to create a black and white comic with a 1930s style, featuring myself as a live-action Betty Boop type character. In those early cartoons, every inanimate object had a face and a personality. This comic was written with that in mind - hence the talking flower in the final panel.

Attack Of The 50 Ft. Totty

Hello there,

I'll had several messages asking me to recreate this classic movie poster, so I grabbed my Playmobil Ecto-1 and snapped a quick photo.

The pose was hard to recapture because the lady in the original image has significantly longer legs than me - after all, she is 50 ft. tall. Actually, she looks a lot taller than that.

I wonder how King Kong would react... 🦍

Here's another Gil Elvgren pin-up. I managed to find a photo of the model posing for the original painting. It's interesting to see just how basic the photoshoot was - it makes me feel a bit better about my amateur efforts!

I'm clearly not quite as flexible as the model - I suspect most of these ladies were dancers - and I didn't capture the right angle, but overall I'm fairly pleased with this one :)

Charles Atlas - 'Beach Bully'

Here's something a bit different...

I've been reading a lot of vintage comics lately and there's one heroic figure who pops up everywhere - bodybuilder, Charles Atlas.

Atlas was apparently 'The World's Most Perfectly Developed Man' and his mini-comics weren't afraid to glorify violence to promote his 'Dynamic Tension' fitness system. I find them fascinating - and hilarious!

I thought it would be fun to adapt one of these ads with a twist - it's now a promo...

Sleeping in the summer can be a challenge with lots of gardening and DIY noise in the late evening, so this comic strip is close to home. Literally :)

Pin-up - 'High Heels'

I recently bought a Taschen book of '1000 Pin-Up Girls'. I really love the cover art by Peter Driben, so I thought I'd attempt a recreation. It turned out to be a fairly simple and comfortable shoot - just a coffee table, a large cushion and a precarious stack of books to prop my camera phone on.

I don't own a red spotty top, so I went with a black outfit instead. I didn't quite get the angle right and my heels look massive due to the iphones basic lens, but over all, I'm pretty pleased...

'Night Dive'

Hello there!

This was a fun strip to shoot - a couple of challenging poses and lots of lying on the floor, pretending to dive and swim.

I don't usually tint the photos, but I wanted to create a murky, underwater look to suit the scene. I particularly like the 'night-time' blues, although my hair is inexplicably dry - I probably should have stuck my head under the shower first🚿

Here's a strip featuring the new skirt that I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. I asked you lovely Patrons if it looked better with my top tucked in or untucked. There was no definitive answer, so I went with a bit of both - tucked in for the job interview, untucked after I've been rejected :)

And yes, my weight is accurate on the date of posting - although if I keep eating chocolate donuts at the current rate, this may be subject to change 🍩🍩🍩

This simple little strip has been a real pain in the bum 🍑

The first set of photos didn't look great, so I had to do a complete reshoot. Unfortunately, these photos aren't much better! My poses are stiff, my makeup looks odd and I'm having a very bad hair day - I look like I've got spaniel ears 🐶

Here's a cheeky little pin-up inspired by 'The Tennis Girl', a classic British poster published by Athena in 1978.

Unfortunately, it seems that Patreon won't allow me to post the original image as it features a skirt and a bare bum, (shock horror!) so you'll have to Google it for yourself. This is also why I'm wearing Wonderwear in my version. 

And yes, I have drawn over a child's tennis racket - £6.99 from Smyths Toy Superstore :)
