HALLOWEEN TALES: Kill List (2011, Dir: Ben Wheatley)

A first for the show, as we explore a modern horror classic that has a lot to say about psychopathic hitmen, parapolitical cults and what it's like to need a new Jacuzzi in austerity-era Britain.

General vibe seems in favour of a movie discussion

So this ☝️ is the movie we are going to discuss, if you want to watch in advance. It'll be up Saturday/Sunday. You can get the full flick for free on YouTube.

Okay so here's the thing...

The Octopus continues, but we're working on that. Halloween is approaching, but we're still working on that. Books of War will be resuming soon, but I'm still working on that. So the schedule has a hole in it this week. Would you be okay with no episode this week or would you prefer a Patreon-exclusive, one man film critique, to be released on Saturday or so, where I freestyle on one of my top 3 horror movies? It'll be a slightly rougher edit than I usually release but I think it'd be pretty ...

52 - The Octopus 6: The Death of Danny Casolaro

Danny Casolaro's investigation into The Octopus ends in a West Virginia motel in brutal fashion. We try to piece together his final days and discuss what his death means to skeptics and believers alike. This is the hinge point of our entire miniseries; although Danny's role in the story ends here, we'll be following up on his leads and chasing PROMIS around the world for the remainder of the series. From here on, things only get darker.

Next episode...

We say goodbye to Danny and talk through not just the specifics of his death, but what it means to the broader story of The Octopus. This is sort of the hinge point of our series; after this chapter, we'll try to pick up the baton he left behind and follow PROMIS around the world. In episodes to come, we'll be meeting other major players and expanding outwards to look at surveillance, heroin, Gladio B, the end of history, Silicon Valley, the looming towers, and much more.

OCTOPUS ERRATA

This isn't a canon episode it's just a collection of vaguely interesting chit-chat and outtakes from the last couple of sessions. If you have any chores that will take exactly 37 minutes and 41 seconds this is a good one to listen to while you toil.

50 - THE OCTOPUS 4: A Pale Horse

Danny pursues his story to the California desert, encountering desperadoes, contract killers, dope runners and CIA assets. He also makes the acquaintance of one Robert Booth Nichols, a man with a lot of stories to share and a mysterious interest in the Inslaw Affair and Casolaro's work.

I 100% promise (hehe he said PROMIS)...

...you will have the next Octopus installment within 48 hours. We've got a wealth of material recorded and it's just a case of editing now. We really wanted to ensure we got this section of the story right because we are out on the edge at this point, that final moment before the roller coaster drops and things get truly wild. We decided to do a few takes and try approaches from different angles to cover all our bases. Just give us a little longer and I swear, you will have the same illness w...

Next episode...

As you have probably guessed we're getting into some hellishly complex underworld history now, not helped by the fact that more than a few accounts of this period are not, strictly speaking, the recollections of people with honest or even sane motives. So chapter 4 is going to be late by a day or two while we finesse the material and make the necessary edits (some stuff is going to be used in chapter 5 instead).

Chapter 5 will be a breakdown of Danny's death and explore further detail...

Taster of what's to come in the next instalment of THE OCTOPUS

We were concerned that audio alone would be insufficient to explain the dizzying, psychedelic overload that Danny was stumbling through in 1991, so we've put together a work in progress link map to provide additional help. This should give you some idea of what sort of danger he was in just from probing the Cabazon angle, but to tell you the truth, this barely scratches the surface (we have yet to add the South American coke cartels/Saudis/Arkansas/Earl Brian/etc connections yet, for example)...

49 - THE OCTOPUS 3: Danger Man

Danny's pursuit of the Octopus brings him into contact with a geek burnout and spook fixer called Michael Riconosciuto. Riconosciuto is an operative of some kind (we think), and he has a lot to tell Danny about about software hacking, CIA ops, UFOs, bioweapons and gun deals in the desert. Casolaro is intoxicated, but following Rico's leads and trying to untangle truth and fantasy mires him even deeper in a bizarre underworld of rogue spies, gangsters and corrupt politicians. We also ...

48 - THE OCTOPUS 2: Danny Casolaro in Wonderland

Danny Casolaro is a freelance journalist on the hunt for a scoop when he hears about the Inslaw Affair. Bill Hamilton has a hell of a tale to tell him: a horror story about grinding bureaucracy, corruption in high places, rogue intelligence operatives and low-level footsoldiers for the gangster state. In hearing this, Danny feels destiny calling, and his curiosity soon morphs into an all-consuming obsession.

47 - The Octopus 1: The Perfect Spy

Inslaw Inc developed a version of a software package called PROMIS that was leaps and bounds beyond anything comparable at the time. It was stolen by the US government and allegedly distributed to clients around the world with a secret "back door" surveillance modification. The Inslaw Affair is, for many people, the Rosetta Stone of modern American conspiracy, a high tech Watergate. Before we get truly out there, myself and the mysterious Mr Benjamin Ghazi are going to use this opening episod...

Act 2: Far Out

45 - CASINO 5: Godfathers of the Deep State

The final, Beast-length installment of CASINO. We talk Ronald Reagan: actor, dreamweaver, visionary, plus President, and we also discuss Agha Hasan Abedi: banker, pseudo-revolutionary and shaman capo of BCCI. Connecting both are the machinations of the White Rose, Poppy Bush, and a transatlantic alliance of spooks and political operatives who can taste the final victory, the big time, the ecstasy of gold.

All is clouded by desire, and the towers loom above us.

Casino 5 is coming, I really apologise

I could not slice it into two or three smaller episodes, however, so what I've done is streamlined it as best I could, and you're going to be getting the monster length version instead. I would guess that it'll run to about two hours, but it could be that we need to add a little more after I listen to the rough cut. I really did try to stick to the "leaner, meaner" rule of 45 to 60 minute long episodes but this one has been a nightmare to cut. I think if there is any fat here, it adds much ne...

DULCE MIDNIGHT RADIO III ft. Robert Skvarla

UFOs are back again baby. Congress held a hearing, and our friend Robert Skvarla (@robertskvarla) stopped by to chat about his great new 3 part series over at Diabolique, "The Cover-Up Behind UFO Cover-Up? Live!"

We talk disclosure, disinformation, and the staggering failure by mainstream media and the UFOlogy community to critically assess the motivations of the people currently running this latest iteration of Operation Disclosure. We also discuss The X-Files (finally!), th...

This week...

I'm going to post a cool chat we had with Robert Skvarla of Diabolique magazine. We talked UAP, disinformation, CIA bullshit, and more.

This was supposed to be the week of the final Casino episode but I've decided to redo it - it's way too long and kind of messy. I think it'll work better as 2 shorter, punchier episodes.

Next Ghost Stories:

We're at a pivotal point in our discussion of late-70s intrigue. We're going to riff about two men who have a surprising amount in common: Ronald Reagan, the actor, dreamweaver, and President, and Agha Hasan Abedi, the banker, revolutionary and shaman capo of BCCI. Connecting both are the machinations of the White Rose, Poppy Bush, and a transatlantic alliance of British and American spooks who can taste the final victory, the big time, the ecstasy of gold. BOOKS OF WAR 3 - SULFUR

A murder at a Christening exposes a vast secret society operating in the heart of "sulfur country" in Sicily. We discuss the importance of Sicily's sulfur industry to the industrial revolution and the stranglehold of the hated British on the sector. The ruthless exploitation of sulfur creates devastating economic and social conditions in Sicily, and gives the mafia another route into politics. Also of concern this episode is the role of symbolism to the mafia; we talk about the importance of ...

44 - CASINO 4: Shotgun Safari - BCCI, the Safari Club and the Second CIA

We have reached the midpoint of our CASINO series, friends and neighbours. Tonight we look at some other aspects of George HW Bush's time as CIA Director, the moment when he became the Godfather of the Amerikan Deep State. We look at the privatization of US intelligence, cocaine trafficking, Adnan Khashoggi and the development of Safari Club, and setting up the dark money networks with BCCI. This one has a little bit of everything, folks.

Okay, bit of a problem

Laptop has fully died and taken my next two shows with it. I'm going to try and get hold of a replacement ASAP. They will both be out next week now (Books of War 3 and GS:Casino 4).

Luckily all my notes and whatnot are on docs so it's just a case of rerecording. Apologies for this peeps, bear with me and we'll be back on track soon enough.

Also, next Books of War Friday or Saturday

Was hoping to get the next Casino out this week too, but there just isn't enough time to sort both. Casino 4 next week.

Beat from CASINO 2

Had a few Qs about where to find this beat. I made it as a RZA tribute for the episode, so it's not really available anywhere except the show. I thought it might be cool to post the full track here if you need something to help out with that midweek commute or whatever. Also if anyone knows a paranoid MC who wants to "spit" some "hard bars" about the CIA over the top, then feel free to use it, by all means.

43 - CASINO 3: It's a Small World After All

We chase the money and Cuban exiles across 30 years of intrigue and corruption, looking at Castle Bank & Trust, World Finance Corporation, Disney, money laundering, Operation Condor, the CIA and more. 1976 and the rise of George Bush to the summit of the American deep state looms; the world will never be the same after this.

Next CASINO episode up on Saturday

I wanted to hit at least three Fridays in a row but alas. Still, 3 eps in as many weeks isn't bad is it. Also we won't really be chatting about casinos or the mafia for the remainder of the miniseries but what the hell, it's a good title. The Bush is looming folks. Poppy is about to become the Godfather of the deep state.

Books of War 3 next week. Sulfur mines baby.

Hope you're all good and enjoy the weekend.
