Hey everybody. Slow week for me as I've been fighting a bad cold. Getting sick is really bad for game development because I still have to do my day job when I'm sick but staying up late is a bad idea, and staying up late is the only way to get work on the game done after the day job is over. But I still made progress on the episode.

Predictably, MC will want to explore his theory through another visit to Cobra Hawkins.

Much of Episode Four, predictably, will deal with the emotional fallout brought on by Rockford's theory about Henry Clay. The ending of Episode Three is meant to be more than a shocking twist. Hey everybody.  This week I knocked out the opening scene of Episode Four in which Aghavni and MC talk through his theory of the case.  It was easy enough because the environment/lighting was already set up in Episode Three.  By the way, there was one line of some interest from Aghavni in the ending scene of Episode Three with some implications.  I wonder how many of you noticed it? 🙂

Special Render: Space Maid Warrior Jamie

For the second episode in a row, Jamie ran away with the win in the Best Girl poll.  From the looks of it, I'd say it's going to her head.

What's going on in this render?  Is Jamie defending her spaceship by fighting off a horde of flesh-eating zombie invaders, or is she a homicidal maniac who snuck onto someone else's ship and is murdering a bunch of peaceful engineers?  To be honest, I'm not sure--and neither is Jamie.

Dream Scene: Episode Four

Our upper-tier supporters have chosen Vega to get her own bonus scene in  the next update!  And I'm pretty goddman excited about it....

Vega  delivered one of the most crushing lines of the story so far when she  called out the MC for his treatment of women.  Players were divided over  whether or not the MC really deserved it, but regardless it sparked a  piercing self-reflection from our protagonist.

Hey everybody.  I'm making the journal entry public this week because I want to report on the Steam launch, and there were a lot of people who aren't Patreon/SS Supporters who nonetheless helped make it a success.

In the first 24 hours after Leaving DNA launched on Steam it sold 982 copies.  In the 35 hours since then it's sold an additional 671 copies (minus a 5% refund rate).  Those numbers will fall off substantially after the launch weekend, but I think that's a prett...

One more surprise, guys!  I don't normally do this many special renders but I did want to make sure that all of my upper tier supporters got a thank you this month, so here's the final poll option from February.  Unfortunately I don't have time to do any more renders of her right now but hopefully I will come back to her in the future because Supergirl Emmeline makes me happy.

Small Changes

Hey guys, just a quick note to the Biggest Supporters tier:

Tonight I made some non-substantive changes to the Episode Three build, changed the main menu image, the screen linking my patreon etc., the main menu music, and the game's font.  If you've already played the update there's nothing new in the actual game, but if you see somebody posting a screenshot of the main menu or something like that I don't want you to be wondering what's going on.

Leaving DNA: Episode Three Released for Biggest Supporters!

For the four of you in the Biggest Supporter tier, thank you very much!  You guys rock.  I'll release the game for the lower tiers on Tuesday the 27th, so unless there's a leak you will have the story to yourselves for a few days.  I hope you enjoy the update!

If you're waiting to play it on Steam, I should get Episode Three uploaded to Steam this weekend, so if you want a key let me know and you should be able to play it on Steam before the official launch date.

Hey everybody.  I am getting close to finishing my first draft of Episode Three.  A few more easy-ish scenes to pose/render and then I'll work on revisions before sending it to the playtesters.  The animation computer is still going full-time.  I dare say that if Episode Three isn't done by the end of February then I'll eat my hat.  I'll make a public announcement tomorrow re the official Steam/Itch release of March 7th, but you'll get the update before that.
