Schedule for the Week of 7/31/2023

Hello hello! It’s Baldur’s Gate release week, so I’m pretty excited to jump into that at the end of the week. I feel pretty good about clearing out some of the backlog for it, though I still have a bunch of cleanup to do in Pikmin 4 and I should PROBABLY just finish up Tears of the Kingdom at this point. Later this month there’s Moving Out 2 which I’m also jazzed about. The kids and I played a whole lot of the first one. On the streaming side of things we’ll be jumping into Remnan...

[Video] Patron's Choice for July 2023: Alex's Rock Band 4 Sound Check!

You voted and the results are clear! It's time for Alex to setup his drums in his new basement and play like the neighbors can't hear him!

NOTE: This video will most likely be hard to view as an archive due to the songs played and the way copyright is enforced on YouTube so going to try and put it here as well.

Patron Q&A 025: July 2023

This month we all attend the College of Disney Knowledge to think about how to best spring a surprise vacation on a seven-year-old, dissect our green thumb abilities and tolerance for spiciness, evangelize the magic of headlamps, think deeply about "watching" some "anime," and more.

The Nextlander Friday Thank You: July 2023

We're gonna try something new around these parts this month, seeing as Patreon doesn't let you paste text into the poll choices and also the character limit is way too short. (The italics will surely catch their attention and compel them to right this CMS wrong). Here are your choices for this month's patron's choice stream, presented in all their unfettered glory!

  • Alex has the basement up and running, so he's gonna see if he can get his drum ki...

Video games and the weather. That’s what we’re here to talk about. Alex is back home finally after he had his flight canceled, like the rest of the country. He was going to stream some AEW on Monday, but Brad and I will get up to something dumb while he catches up after his red eye. Later this week Abby is going to join Alex and me as we check out the first of that new Monkey Island x Sea of Thieves content. On Friday we’ll have Pikmin 4 (a game I’m pretty excited about!) and more dur...

We’ve returned “to the office”! How did things go during our break? Pretty well, overall, I’d say. We chat about it on the Ramblecast this week. Personally, I set out to finish Zelda and Diablo (at least the main narrative parts of them) and I think I did alright. Still working on Zelda, but significant progress! I’ll talk more about that on this week’s Podcast, for sure. For streams this week I asked Brad to fire up Trepang2 as I’m both curious about that one and also want to s...
