As you can see, more depth was added to the second page, and Gage was made to be bigger to help add to that feeling of depth! This helps make the tree in the background look ten times the size of the one I drew before. :3

Originally the background in the last panel looked differently! But when the commissioner said he wanted a big tree. he wanted a really, REALLY big tree. XD So I redid it in the sketch phase. You'll see when that's posted in an hour!

The lighting one this one was pretty challenging, since you can so many different light sources in a bar at night, but I think it turned out well! I even did a few subtle things, like adding some refraction in the martini. :3

I'm going to be taking a 2-3 week vacation at the end of November, as I'll be having a friend visit for my birthday! I'll still be "around," since I'll still be at home, but I won't be working my usual hours or doing any commission work.

And here's the sketch! One small change I made (that wasn't drawing related) was adding a little internal monologue for Nes. I was worried maybe people wouldn't realize why he chose this strategy suddenly (even though it was foreshadowed earlier), so I added it in here just in case.

Full-Res Version of Sketch WIP for Commission: SlaughterOtter Stickers #2
Image #1: What I posted!
Image #2: A version that doesn't have the subtle airbrushing on it. Slaughter preferred the one I posted (of course), but this kind of gives you a little insight into what I do for my cartooning work. Even if you don't ask for airbrush shading on a commission, I almost always add a little bit just to give the character a little more depth. :3

Here's a preview of H-Nighthawk's next comic page, and a little behind the scenes!
Believe it or not, I use two different colors for eyes and white fur! White fur I tend to make a darker shade of grey compared to brighter white eyes. However, when I have to color in the eyes of a character with white fur, I gotta use a different color like this. :3 I change it to a bright white afterwards by locking the transparent pixels and filling!

Main image: The approved sketch for inking! I added some extra dark black lines over top because a lot of the detail was getting obscured.
Image #2: The blue sketch underneath this. The commissioner ended up preferring the chin for this sketch.
Images #3 and #4: Originally the character had plantigrade legs, but they were changed to digitigrade later.

One new thing I'm going to try this month: sneak peaks and previews at upcoming art for everyone in Tier IV and V. I thought this could be a nice little extra perk for you guys. :3 I can't say how often I'll be doing it, but at least once a week!

And here's the refined sketch! I quite like how this turned out. :3 The second image is a version where Gage didn't have any hair. At first I thought he looked better without it, but looking back, it fits him better. :P

As always I outline the drawings in thumbnail form - VERY ROUGH - before I do any detail work just in case changes need to be made. I also made very brief placeholder dialogue, as you can see here. This comic was challenging due to having to summarize a large amount of text into 3-4 pages of comic art. D:
